Subject: When mine did that...two things happened. The white big plug under the left indicater cover had two "slightly" corroded pins. Took it apart..cleaned it up good, put some dielectric grease in it and it was fine for about a year of everyday driving. It did it again, cleaned the plug again....no change ! I had an Eletrix regulator on the shelf.......it puts out a couple more volts thAn stock. I put that one in and problem solved. Just a couple of things for you to check.
