I just purchased a '97TLS a few weeks ago and after a few weeks, mine started doing the same thing. It was extremely hard to get started, but after it was warmed up....it would restart with ease. Unfortunately it kept getting harder to start until I eventually took it to the shop thinking I had just fouled the plugs and for a general service call only to find out it was losing compression in one of the cylinders and needs work on the valves etc. which is going to end up costing me over $500 it looks like. I'm not sure what the overall cause of this hard to start issue was, maybe it is do to the v-twins higher compression or who knows what. This is my first v-twin so I have no comparison with my former in-lines.
