Your points regarding health withstanding - talking 'only' about the matter of what the purpose of a deposit is for. I would ask you to go to a real estate company, a private home seller, a car dealer, an individual who has a car for sale - a breeder of fine race horses and ask them / say to them - I would like for you to take what it is your selling off the market, I would like for you to ignore offers from other buyers that may come along while I am deciding if I 'really' want what you are selling - for this I will 'place in deposit' a portion of what you are asking for this thing your selling - that amount will later be applied to the purchase price. However, if at a later date I decide that I can't afford it, if I find one I like better somewhere else or I simply change my mind - I would like for you to return back the money I put up in order for you to refuse all other buyers, the money I gave you to take your item off the market – once you have returned the deposit money you will be free to go back and look for the ‘potential’ buyers that you refused earlier because, I previously said I wanted to buy the item, and tell them that the item is - once again for sale. I may be from the old school – where when you make a deal you’re obligated to go through with the deal. A contract, (written, handshake or spoken), is a binding agreement. I do not speak of binding by the law, but by moral correctness, an old fashioned term called, ‘doing what’s right’. I simply cannot imagine that I would ask someone to do this and then back out on them. In my opinion it would show a great lack of integrity on my part.
