Subject: Appraisals Pro's and Con's

Do we need an appraisal system? We have Orgs.that gives dogs high scores even when the dog is showing signs of HD or other crippling defects.We have Orgs.that allow dogs that don't meet the standards to enter into the breeding arena.We have Orgs.that will register dogs with no Appraisal at all.We have Orgs.that allow politics to rule over,even when it is not the best thing for the breed.
Without the Appraisal System. We have and will continue to have more health problems.Without the Appraisal System we will never reach a set type.Without implimenting an agility test into the Appraisal System,we'll end up with porch dogs.Without it we will loose the wonderful temperments this breed posseses,on and on.
What are your opinions on the pro's and con's of Appraisal?? Just how strict should it be?How important is agility??Is it user friendly???Is once a year enough???Or do we need it at all??
