Yes, you have free will -- otherwise, you could not show love. Love is voluntary, and that requires there be another choice available to you. God wants us to love Him, but He can't force us to, by definition of love.

Precisely my point. Your children were NOT born that way. You TAUGHT them to be as they are, and if I can believe what you say, it would appear you did a fine job of it!

If you don't think children are naturally self-centered, recall what a baby is like in the first few weeks of its life. What are the primary motivations it sees? Is it not getting fed, getting its diaper changed, and being made comfortable? Self-centered motives, all.
