I Just looked up Self determinism & it appears to be sorta self centered "philosophic doctrine that every present state or condition of the self is a result of previous states or conditions of the self".....the meaning I was considering is more Self determination "freedom to live as one chooses, or to act or decide without consulting others"
It's not a rebellion against 'God' It's more a trusting for the inner comforter as a guide. For some love comes naturally.....or maybe I was taught as a child.

Maybe I was thinking of the derogatory implication of self-centered.....Both children were content and happy. A baby can be called self centered because they are learning so much in early part of life. First few weeks are around the clock care.....It seems the attention they recieved early on came back later on.
