[> Update! I was the luckiest girl in Nashville on Sunday: I not only got to meet Taylor Swift, but I also was an extra on the Army Wives set! CB wasn't one of the cast memebers present, but I still had a blast! Inside... -- DJEgirl, TV commercial star, 11:26:49 06/16/09 Tue

As soon as I was finished meeting Taylor Swift (very sweet girl), Dad and I rushed the eight blocks -- on foot, might I add -- to the Army Wives set. The assistant director came up to meet us and asked if we'd liked to be extras. I had to think only about two seconds before I said "yes." I inquired, quite fervently, if CB was on location for the commercial, and he regretfully told me "no." He seemed genuinely sorry, but I told him it wasn't his fault. I was still grateful -- after all, he's responsible for my Lifetime debut. :-)

Jack Ingram's plane had been delayed, and his manager bribed us and the other extras to stay with free T-shirts and bracelets while the directors provided us with water and doughnuts. Two of the other extras were a duo who will be on the coming-up season of CMT's "Can You Duet," and they entertained us for about an hour and a half. When Jack Ingram finally arrived, things went into full swing.

They lined us extras (there were around 50 of us) around the outer edge of a "grassy knoll" (as the director called it), and then Sally and Wendy came out of their trailer to get into position with Jack. Oh my gosh, they are both SO GORGEOUS!!!! Wendy was in a purple dress, and Sally (who is the tiniest thing I've ever seen) was in a long-sleeved plaid shirt and jeans. Both thanked us extras profusely for waiting so long. I assure you, none of us minded. LOL!

With all actors and extras lined up and the huge lights in position, we began shooting. And shooting. And shooting. I'll bet we took at least six or seven shots of each segment (there were two that were shot at that location), and with each take, we all got a little more sunburned. It was approximately 95 degrees outside, and the lights they had on us were VERY bright and extremely hot. The makeup lady had to come over after almost every take to powder up Sally and Wendy's makeup.

After we wrapped, Sally and Wendy turned around and thanked us over and over for our patience. Several of us asked for pictures, and they very willingly complied. I took photos for several of the extras, then my dad snapped a photo of me with both ladies. They even let us take a second photo when the first turned out too dark! I thanked them both, and they responded in kind. I know the saying is cliche, but they were truly down to earth, normal people. I felt just as comfortable talking to them as I would a fellow "nobody," LOL!

Although I was disappointed that I didn't get to meet CB, I still had an amazing time! I took several photos, which I will try to post a link to once I get 'em online. Be looking for the commercial to begin airing two Sundays from now. I'm in the second row with a dark blue tank top. :-)
