O.K. Let me start....

I am still one infamous Acer in this far away and remote island! :):) I am doing quite well :)! I like the new city that I am living. It is a harbor so that I take ferry rides or ride my motorbike along the river and beach once in a while!! It has been a lot of fun :):)!! I am getting used to be a teacher now, liking my students a lot. Meanwhile, I am setting up my own research in a nearby national park in the mist of monkeys and snakes!!!! :):) That is quite an adventure :):)!! So, in short, life is good.... just a bit JAGless!!!! Oh! I am travelling again.... going to China this time. It will be fun... I guess (Although Brazil is the place where I really want to go, Lucia :):) -- I hope I will have a chance soon)!! :):)

- Hi! I am still down south, USA. New chance of a lifetime tasks at work keep me very busy and by the end of the day I am mentally drained (dangerous, I know LOL) but I love it! - - other than taking away from my time to play with you guys. Guess who made an appearance on Desp. Housewives last night? Actually, there was two someones ... no not DJE and CB ... who I think should be on the show as a married couple just out of the military ... ;-)

Actually, Steven Culp reprised his role as Rex ... not as a ghost but in Bree's and Mary Alice's recollections.

Also making an appearance was the princess from Romania or where ever ... Alexei .. as other head strong, do what she wants (slightly wacky) character this time. **** Spoiler alert **** She's the mom on Tom's illegitimate 11-year-old daughter and moving 5 minutes away from Lynette and Tom. So she'll be back next season.

Anyway, what did you guys (who watched it) think of the ep.? I liked it, thinking it was a lot better than most of the eps this past year. I missed last week, so what happened w/ the fire and Eddie? I saw her on a talk show and they showed a clip where her face was swollen because she was stung by bees. She wasn't in this ep, so I didn't know more. It's amazing how lost you can become by missing one ep ... at least at times.

Planning on watching Medium tonight ... just to see DJE since I don't care for the show. Anyone see Will and Grace Thursday? I was disappointed with the ending. It might have been more realistic, but I didn't like it. I wanted it to be more upbeat than it was. Thank goodness JAG didn't end that way!!!!!!!!

- Hi Sunny! I thought the episode was pretty good. Don't know why they didn't write more episodes like this for the past season. A lot to leave us hanging on to during the summer. Very interesting about Zach, that whole family is creepy. Do you think that Mike survived? Susan still makes me want to hit her, how stupid. - Regarding the Will & Grace finale, overall I was neither disappointed nor pleased by it. I had sort of gotten away from regular watching over the last couple of years, so my expectations sort of lowered. There was one scene near the end I loved -- Jack and Karen singing the duet. Megan Mullaly sings quite well, and I thought it was a sort of touching moment of the reality of the show ending. Then the "bumping bellies" was a cute touch, too. Hello, hello, hello from VERY HOT DRY South TexasI have been one busy person. I have, however, popped in from time to time to read your posts. I, too, have fallen for Bones. I think that is my next JAG. Of course, I'm still "Lost" and you people have not helped me find my way. I was quite excited to see DJE in a promo for Medium. That is another show that I often watch. NCIS was getting a little too predictable for me, but I watch sometimes because I like Mark Harmon. There is no doubt that DB and others recycle both dialogue "Never say you're sorry..." and plots "Leaving your job...etc". But then Shakespeare borrowed also. What are JAG fans top 5 shows of today? Since DB has recycled many JAG plots on NCSI, it made me wonder if some JAG plots were recycled from other DB's shows. Does anybody know? I guess it will be interesting to know that :)!

- Well, Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) starred in Tales of the Gold Monkey, had a Jack Russell terrier named Kip, and crashed a plane or two--I wonder where that might fit in? Also, you don't think that UFO that spawned the Palmer character didn't come from Battlestar Galactica? Cylons beware, Harm is in the air! I guess fighter pilots translate well wherever they come from! Certainly it was a Quantum Leap to believe that The Vuckster could ever assume Harm's identity and things would go on as before!   - Thomas and Harm both lost their dads when they were 5 -- and on holidays --- 4th of July and Christmas Eve. Saturday evening, I was able to attend another of her concerts - my third to date. As always, she was phenomenal: funny, personable, and sweet, with the pure, crystal voice of an angel.

Well, during her performance of "Gimme the Good Stuff" (one of my favorite cuts off her new album), she was returning the waves of fans in the audience. Luckily, I was in a position where I could clearly see the stage (I was in about the 12th row), which made me visible to her. Just as she was about to break into the chorus for the second time, I waved to her - and she waved back with a big smile!!! I couldn't believe it: Trisha Yearwood waved at little 'ole me! I can't even begin to tell you how great that felt. I'll be seeing her again next month at FanFair, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll have a meet 'n greet so I can finally have the opportunity to meet her in person.

Since she was on JAG in the early years, I suppose that makes this post relevant... right? LOL!

It looks like DPB (who wrote the 2-part ep.) did a little JAG script recycling. Gibbs finally got his memory back (Harm lost his too) and when he couldn't stop the bomb from blowing up and save the crew and the sailors sent to board (necessary casualities for PR reasons) got so fed up with the bureaucracy that he turned in his badge to Tony.

The scene of him walking out toward the elevator reminded me of Harm doing the same. What do you want to bet that Jenny will put him on sick leave or vacation time so his resignation won't go through like AJ did with Mac. Only in this case there's no paperwork to "never get around to filing" since Gibbs didn't even write a resignation letter before heading off to Mexico.

I see the potential for more "recycling" next season. The show's coming back, right?

- The show is coming back, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that Gibb's is coming back, too. OUR problem is that we've been through all of this before; otherwise, to the uninformed, this was a good episode. Tony grew up a little; Ziva was able to unburden herself; Jenny showed some UST that has been wanting to come out; Gibbs lost his memory, but we gained knowledge of his background; and we received a flashback of JAG! - I kind of felt this way the whole season and some of last season too. We had a character almost die (Tony and Gibbs), someone being stalked (Abby), someone being kidnapped (Jenny) and someone being under investigation for wrongful death (McGee and Ziva). Of course, we saw Harm and Mac during those eps and could see Gibbs too ... getting into trouble w/ his old boss in Mexico ... like Harm and Mac did in the forest when he took her flying. Or Gibbs will only be out one ep and come back like Mac did when she "resigned".         I know my number doesn't count - it didn't add up when I DID watch JAG and it won't matter that I DON'T Watch NCIS- but 1.         Well, chris, if one were smart enough and had read enough early literatute, one would find that there are no original ideas left anyway--just variations on a theme. So, better that DB plagiarize his own work than someone else's. At least it works, since the ratings ARE so high. DB paid tribute to this notion when he had Bud reciting Star Trek episodes based on Shakespeare's work. "There is nothing new under the sun." so why not just bask in the warmth of an old favorite? Hi! I'm looking for a fanfic that I read a while ago. It has Harm and Mac undercover on a base. Harm undercover as a Gunny I think and Mac is a higher rank. Harm tries to find out about a "club" on base so he joins and the members meet after dark and they fight Harm. He then goes to Mac's room and she helps him clean up and she goes with him to the next fight. It's been a while since I read it and I can't remember the author, title, rating, or where I found it. Right now I´m reading manette´s Come in from the cold and loving it. It´s AU, while Harm was in the CIA.
It´s got everything I like: mystery, a well thought-out plot, HUMOR, shipper moments, and it´s true to the characters, IMO.

I've been really busy, so I've kind of been absent lately. Did any of you see CSI: Miami about 2 weeks ago? It was one of the rare times that I did. It was the ep where a guy on his honeymoon disappeared.

Anyway, guess who I'm 99 percent sure was in the ep. playing a flirtateous jr. officer aboard the cuise ship, flirting with all the women and in this case romancing a 16 year old (to his credit, he did walk away when told by her soon-to-be-dead stepfather how old she is.)

I'll give you a guess...he broke the rules (or severely bent them) as he saw fit.

His face was a bit fuller ... but if you haven't guessed yet ... it was our not-so-favorite lieutenant ... Vulckovic!!!!!!!!

Yep, playing the same type of character .... I'm practically certain it was Chris B. (or whatever his name was). It did make me laugh ... couldn't help but think of his JAG role.

... we sat down to watch an episode which closed the door on an era, but which also brought to reality a hope we'd treasured in our hearts for years. The entire day was bittersweet, and most of us hopped on and off the board during the morning and afteroon. I returned home from errands just in time for Acer's Internet emergency and Tex-Rose's wildfeed. (I still remember how she worded it, like a fairy tale that was coming true. "And then there were fireworks...")

I spent 9-10 p.m. in front of my TV with my remote, a pillow, and a large box of tissues. I still can remember exactly how I felt when the coin soared to the top of the screen and the colors faded to black for the final time: sadness, but contentment as well.

I still miss our show terribly, but I just want you all to know how grateful I am that our community hasn't disappeared. We may not be QUITE as talkative as we used to be, but we're still together. JAG gave us characters to love, but more than that, it gave us each other.

It got me to think one thing.

If Harm and Mac were not good looking, but still smart would we still be crazy about them? Say Mac looked like the INS lady (For some reason, the thought made me laugh pretty hard!! Hee hee... :)... and Harm looked like say the petty officer who has four wives (Again, it made me laugh)! :)

Well, I guess in RL, it would probably not make any difference, but I guess maybe good looking indeed IS important for TV characters! I do not know... I guess there are no bad looking people at TV for that comparison!

- Would we still love them as much if they weren't as attractive? Absolutely. Something that came to mind while reading this thread is Josh (Bradley Whitford) from The West Wing. He's my absolute FAVORITE character on that show, even though I don't find him particularly attractive (though he's got this little sideways grin thing that's pretty cute sometimes). It's the character's personality that I've come to love, his sense of humor and his dedication to his country and the values he believes in. The only thing that would've been different about my watching JAG if the cast wasn't so good-looking would've been that I wouldn't have had to rewind almost every scene so I could concentrate on the dialogue instead of, say, Harm's impressive biceps. I actually remember very little of that episode. I have no idea what the b plot was, or C plot if there was one..LOL - but that little INS lady when she says to Harm...If I weren't soo short, too old and too married....Nevermind!!

I think those are some of the best lines of JAG!! LOL - even if they don't come from Harm and Mac.. LOL.

        Mac didn't want to go to Mic's office party. Understandable. But when they got there the boss kinda did the 'you're a beautiful Marine do you want a job' thing which made her uncomfortable. Why? She had the same reaction from a bunch a folk, and that Senator who was at Dalton's office party was worse IMHO. She handled him just fine. Then she saw other men (and women) looking and talking about her and she was visibly uncomfortable. Then she overheard Mic and his boss talking about how she was the complete package and got real uncomfortable and blew up to Mic about it - which made us have to endure the match scene. Why? Surely she'd had to handle folk like that before. I dunno, maybe I'll go find a beautiful woman and ask what she'd have done.         I disagree with you....when with Dalton, she was never treated as a piece of meat....that whole scene with Mic & his bosses were Mic's bosses "congratulating" him on Mac's look, & then they all ogle her like some piece of meat. And then Mic leaves her alone at this party where she didn't know anyone but him, if you remember with Dalton at least Dalton didn't leave to her own devices. I would've been uncomfortable, being treated like a piece of meat which IMHO Mic & his bosses did. Then to "order" her to get into the car like a two year old, sorry, I would've taken his stupid ring off & told him to don't let the door hit him in the A** on the way out. - I see no reason DJE and CB can't do those roles...they're talented enough and still look good. Let's face it, some of the "hot" stars are only "hot" because they have good agents, not real talent or good looks. It amazes me how plain or sometimes unattractive stars get called "beautiful" and "good-looking, hearthrob" and actors with truly good looks like DJE and CB get ignored.     - That depends on how famous the series was in its original run. Macgyver was a smashing hit and was released on DVD three months after its release in the US. Just enough time to have the dubbing and subtitles in Portuguese and in Spanish done. And therein lies the problem ... We´re an island surrounded by Spanish-speaking countries and Brazilians do prefer dubbing, which is costly and time-consuming. The episode Embassy is one of my favorites.

It struck me that the entire episode could have worked exactly the same - dialogue and all - had they been dating or even married.

It got me wondering how many other episodes we could leave exactly the same and it would have been like they were together - or if we removed one line of dialogue.... it could have seemed like they were together...

Can anyone think of more eps like Embassy where they behaved like a couple the entire episode?
