Among many rather depressing news, I think this story is certainly a nice break!

A news said that a former Miss USA (1944; she is 82 years old) stoped thieves by herself (she has a gun) in her land!!!! This is super super cool!! :) I wish I will have her spirits if I am lucky enough to live to my 80s!!!

[> They were trying to steal farm equipment from her barn in Kentucky and she stopped them when she caught them at it. They said, "We'll leave!" She then told them, "Oh, no, you won't!" and then proceeded to shoot out the tires on their vehicle with her hand gun and then calling the police. At 82, she has one heck of an aim. I thought shooting out the tires only happened in the movies!!! -- Postrider, wondering if there will be a new category of talent competion in the Miss America contest. Can anyone say, "Annie Oakley?", 12:12:52 04/23/07 Mon

[> IŽll be lucky if I live THAT long ... ... LOL Lucky her, really! I guess living on a farm makes it necessary to have a piece for protection; however it wouldnŽt have helped much if she didnŽt have a heck of an aim, as Postrider put it! -- Lucia ... whoŽd never have a gun or she might ... , 19:04:06 04/23/07 Mon

[> At 82 I hope I'll be able to see them....and also know that they don't belong....and also remember how to call for help. LOL! I live on a farm, does my son's b-b gun count as a piece? -- Carrotts, the blind, forgetful one, 20:54:40 04/23/07 Mon
