Subject: loose skin after pregnancy

On the subject of loose skin after pregnancy, I've read many articles. Most say plastic surgery, few say lose excess pounds. I've never had such trouble with my body. My son is now 10 months old and I'm probably 4 pounds over my usual weight, 125. I've always been proportioned. Not anymore. However, I've watched surgeries of tummy tucks on t.v. and when they remove the "excess skin" it does look like there is a lot of fat unevenly layered there. I don't want to disappoint any one. Skin is really not that thick. I'm taking nursing classes. Skin is not what the are only taking off. Still, I don't know the answer. Is the skin just not holding the fat anymore, or is the fat just not as compact as it was before? Is there anyone who has gotten there stomach back without surgery? I just thought, wow, most of this stuff removed looks like skin with about an inch or two of fat underneath it. I just want to know is there a chance without workin myself out 24 hours a day or putting my skin under the knife?
