If this is your first time low-carbing, you will have a better chance of losing quickly than I will. Your first time is always the easiest and the fastest! Unfortunately, I'm a veteran LC'er, so my goal may not be entirely reasonable. My first time on the plan, I lost 25 lbs. in 7 weeks -- my wedding was the incentive, so I was very good about not cheating. However, I know it's going to be harder this time around. Ideally, I would like to lose 30 lbs. in 3 months, but I wouldn't be unhappy with 15-20.

How quickly you lose depends on a number of factors: how much total weight you need to lose is a big one. The less you need to lose, the slower you will lose it. Those whose weight goal is 100+ lbs., will see faster results than those who only need to lose 20 or 30 lbs. And as I said before, if this is your first time subscribing to the LC lifestyle, you will usually see quicker results than those who have tried it before. Your individual body chemistry will also play a big role (ex: some people can use unlimited artificial sweeteners and still lose, while others find that it stalls their weightloss.) A little experimenting may be necessary to find your "progress inhibitors."

The most difficult thing for me is staying motivated. I love food and as I said before, I'm totally addicted to sweets. But I'm hoping that this message board and all of you on it will help me to keep my will strong.
