Subject: Maybe try a moderate carb version of BFL
In reply to: Sherry 's message, "Ok now me" on 11:16:56 08/27/02 Tue

Try to stay around 100 grams of carbs per day.

I think the planning involved is a benefit. You arent just flying by the seat of your pants. When you get up in the morning you know what you have to do and what you have to eat. No more standing in front of the fridge and trying to decide what you want.

I am not doing BFL right now, I might do it later if CKD doesnt work, but i did take some ideas from it. I started planning my meals the night before, i pack my lunch before going to bed and put my breakfast meal right in the front of the fridge. I also took the idea of eating 6 small meals per day. The first two days were tough, i was hungry about 1/2 hour before i was supposed to eat. Now i feel full all day long, to the point that i have to set the alarm on my watch so i know when to go eat.

As for the BFL workout: you said you were "shocked at it" i dont know whether you meant you were shocked because it was so easy or so hard or so boring... but i think from the rest of the paragraph you thought it was pretty hard. if it is too hard jsut scale back a bit, use a little less weight or a few less reps. Dont overdue it while you are just beginning. This is one thing i am going to have problems with, i havent lifted in close to 8 years but i know as soon as i get in the gym i am gonna wanna lift like a madman, just because that is the way i am when i workout.

Good luck

  • Don't feel bad Sherry, my weight bounced this morning too. I know it's gotta be because of TOM; I was really good on my plan yesterday plus I spent 3 hours rigorously working out (so much that I hurt myself actually). This morning the scale read 150 again -- up 1.5 lbs for no reason. Don't feel discouraged sis, we both know it's temporary. (NT) -- Kel, 13:51:25 08/27/02 Tue
