I hate aerobics. I don't have a lot of stamina, and to stay working out solidly with my heart beating that hard isn't much fun for me. But if you want a good solid workout the healthrider for 20 minutes will give you that.

I bought mine used too, but it didn't come with videos. It does have a place on the back to add weights to it to make the workout more intense. But even without the weights it is pretty solid work if you stick to it for 20 minutes.

I think the treadmill would be less of a workout, because there you mainly use your legs. The healthrider uses legs, arms, back, abs etc. Let me know if you learn anything from the videos.

My biggest problem with it was with the BFL program you are supposed to vary the intensity of the workout, and I couldn't figure out to do that with the healthrider, it just seemed to get more intense the longer I did it. No light and easy mode that I could see or one that was harder either (unless you add weights maybe).

  • The healthrider was the first machine I started working out on. It did a great job without putting too much stress on my bones. I would recommend it to anyone, and you got a great deal! (NT) -- Shara, 18:01:15 08/30/02 Fri
