No one has answered your question is that it is really a non question. We don't count grams of fat in this way of eating.

You are five feet tall, want to lose fifty pounds. That doesn't tell me how much you currently weigh, so it would be really hard for me to give you an accurate estimate of how much of whatever you should be eating. You didn't say what plan you are following either, or how low you are keeping your carbs.

I've been told that you should keep your protein grams to about 1 gram per pound of lean body mass that you have (at least), assuming that you are an active individual, less than that if not. Calories you should keep to about 12 per every pound that you currently weigh in order to lose weight. Too little and you go into starvation mode, too much and you won't lose.

But this is a low carb diet we are following and normally what we count are the carbohydrates. Most of us eat between 20 and 50 per day of carbs. The rest of our calories we get from protein and fat.

So assuming you weigh 150 pounds, you should be eating 150 times 12 calories equalling about 1800 calories a day.

If you have 80 pounds of lbm (lean body mass which is your body without any fat) and you are reasonably active you should be eating at least 80 grams of protein a day. 80 times 4 (calories) equals at least 320 calories from protein a day. 1800-320= 1480 calories that you need to divide between protein, carbs and fat. Assuming you are eating 50 grams of carbs per day that takes up another 200 calories leaving you 1280 calories to divide between protein and fat.

Fat has 9 calories per gram (whereas protein and carb have only 4 each). So assuming you decided to eat 80 grams of fat that would take up 720 calories of what you have left.

You have 560 calories left. Do you want to use it for protein or fat? That is really up to you.

Different people advocate different percentages of protein, fat and carb consumption. Some say 40/40/20 others different values.

In other words, don't worry about fat. Fat is really a non issue anyway. Fat does nothing to your insulin levels, whereas protein and especially carbs do. The only thing you need to worry about with respect to fat is that because it is higher in calories you don't want to eat so much of it that you exceed your daily calorie intake.
