Subject: I don't think Splenda is sugar alchohols. Malitol and things like that are. I believe Splenda is an "invert sugar" whatever that means. It is sugar that has been chemically changed. Hmmm, now you've got me wondering. Maybe it is?
In reply to: Kel 's message, "I have read that sugar alcohols do not count in the carbs that affect your blood sugar. In fact, isn't Splenda made from sugar alcohols? I could be wrong on that one -- not sure. Anyway, I have heard some people say that even though they aren't supposed to be affected by sugar alcohols, they are." on 07:45:28 08/12/02 Mon

  • I cant use Splenda. It causes problems for me. I was doing well on Atkins, drinking one can of diet caffiene free cola per day. Switched to Diet Rite for a week and started gaining weight. Went back to DCF coke and started losing again (NT) -- Joe, 11:19:25 08/12/02 Mon
