Subject: Hi Dana I once gained 4 pounds in the space of an afternoon. I was eating home made beef jerky (in which I used soy sauce). All the extra salt cause that much extra water to be retained. If it is hot where you are or you are using extra salt, it could simply be water retention. Don't worry about it, it will come back off.

  • I've gained as much as 8 pounds overnight with no change in diet or routine. It's water retention. Give it a couple of days. If you're not already taking a B-complex vitamin, you may want to add one to help get rid of the extra water. (NT) -- Katie, 08:45:10 07/22/02 Mon
