To apologize. This place is for conversation. I'm not really at a point where I need "encouragement" I feel like I'm doing pretty well right now. But I do need conversation in order to keep it all fresh and happening!

You and I both have a long way to go to get to our goals. We are in the same boat in that way. I don't have a tape measure. I originally used a piece of drywall tape, and I still do. I mark my measurements on that. And then I measure them with a metal retractable measuring thing. (can't remember what they are called).

The drywall tape is just a piece of long 2 inch thick strip of paper. Easy to write on, I write the date, and the part of the body I've measured.

My hips are now smaller than my bust used to be, and are about 3 inches smaller than they were when I first lost 50 pounds (and yet I am only 5 pounds lower than what I weighed then). The area across my belly button is a full 4 inches smaller than it was on 11/13/00 (when I had lost 50)

My bust is about 2.5 inches smaller. My waist is 2.5 inches smaller. The area just under my bra (which would be bra size) is 2 inches smaller. Thigh is about an inch, calf is about an inch, neck about 3/4 inch, upper arm about an inch and a half smaller.

Doesn't that seem a little crazy? All those inches lost, but only 5 pounds different on the scale. What is that all about?

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I've been on and off this diet without really losing a significant amount of weight since November of 2000, and yet all those inches are gone. What am I doing? replacing fat with muscle or something? It doesn't make sense.

Anyway I agree with you, I wouldn't let my husband measure me either. He could probably look at my tape if he was at all intersted, but it isn't interesting to him.

The other day he said "I hate that diet you are on, I'd rather have you fat!" We were trying to go out to eat, and there is very little that I consider decent food in fast food restaurants, that I would consider eating.

I told him "thank you for being so supportive". I think he got the message.

He doesn't care if I'm fat or thin, which I appreciate, but I don't want him pressuring me to eat the wrong things either. After all I'm not doing this for HIM, but for me.
