I wish you did too. It is so frustrating to be a mom and unable to spend time with your babies. They are little for such a short time.

The boy sounds like a typical teenager. I wouldn't let it get to me too much. (Easily said I know, teenagers know just how to push your buttons).

Try and remember that he is human. They don't seem like humans at that age, but maybe things will get better on that front. Where is his mother? You say he is your SO's stepson? Not his son? Sounds unusual, are you two his closest relatives then? Maybe he feels like he doesn't really belong, maybe he feels jealous of the baby. Maybe he is just being a typical misfit teenager.

I agree you shouldn't take any crap, but on the other hand, kids just tend to know how to dish it out.

Find a way to relieve some of your stress. Hold the baby as it sleeps or something. I know that isn't as much fun as having it to play with while awake, but babies are great stress relievers.

Take a warm bath, put bubbles in it or scented oil. Read a book you've been wanting to read. Give yourself a break, sounds like you need one.
