Subject: Things to try...
In reply to: Sherry 's message, "Diet Rite sodas are made with Splenda (if you can find them). I've given up most diet drinks and just drink water (and occasionally cream)." on 21:07:59 07/01/02 Mon

Atkins bars work for some, not for others, and I've talked to other people who did fine with them for a time and then stalled.

Figure out how many calories a day you are consuming. Try fitday.com for logging your food. It will figure out your calories and fat, protein, carb, and fiber grams. Try what Sherry said about multiplying your weight by 12 and eating within that calorie range for a week or so to see if it makes a difference.

How much cheese, nuts, and dairy do you consume? These are things that can cause some people to stall after a time. Try upping your carbs for a week. If that doesn't work, try lowering your carbs for a week. If you haven't been eating enough carbs, you can put your body into the same starvation mode that insufficient calories can cause.

Look at your meals. Are you getting variety or are you relying on the same things all the time. Your body can get "tired" of the same food and start to use it more efficiently. Are you getting your carbs from "good" sources, such as veggies and fruits, or are you getting them from legal treats such as LC chocolates? Your body can tell the difference and quality does count with carbs.

Give us sample menus for a couple of days and let's see if we can pick up on some things that may be causing you problems.

BTW... I started on 01/19/02 and I've lost 30 pounds exactly. Not the world's fastest weight loss, but I didn't put it on overnight either.
