Yes I have this problem. I very much do. Suggestions? I'm not sure I have very good ones, I'm going through the same things myself right now. One thing that helps is to get the bad foods out of your house. Go grocery shopping and buy all the right foods and set a date. I WILL start on THIS date and I won't deviate.

It takes a firm committment, and sometimes FEELING like making that firm committment is difficult, especially after having gained back. It is easy to say "what's the use?"

For me what point in my cycle I'm at makes a difference too. There are points when I just have such a hard time hanging in there, other times when it isn't hard at all.

I think sometimes letting your binging run its course "getting it out of your system" helps. But that is so dangerous that you could gain back all your lost weight by doing that so I hate to even mention it. I have found though that when I get REALLY disgusted with myself (by cheating a LOT, not a little) that is when I make up my mind to get back on track.

Bread for me, seems to make me sick to my stomach faster than other things. If I eat too much bread (or pizza or whatever), I find myself feeling so icky that I WANT to get back on plan.

I finally went grocery shopping yesterday and bought the right foods. Today I am making a committment to get back on TRACK. Maybe since it is Monday, you can join me. I really think that MONDAY is a great day to recommit and make solid your desire to be good for the week. (Much easier than a Friday which is just before the weekend).

So what do you say? A little Private challenge for just us two? We WILL stay on plan TODAY? Sometimes taking it one day at a time helps too.

Another thing that helps me is sticking to plan for three days. Once I have been on plan for three days it gets easier, because once ketosis starts, I don't want to blow it. Getting there is harder.

But today I WILL stay on plan. Will you join me?

  • I've been having the same problem. What finally worked for me was to remember all of the things that were hard/impossible for me to do when I was heavier. This helped me to remember why I was so committed to this WOL in the first place. Also looking at how far I've come (even with setbacks and weight gain), you've done really well and you KNOW that you can do the rest. (NT) -- Katie, 08:34:48 05/20/02 Mon
