No need to apologize. I'm quite passionate about it myself. My mom died of a heart attack at the age of 58, and I became pregnant shortly thereafter. I found out on my 37th birthday. I realized that if I only lived to the age of 58, that I'd be leaving my son while his is only 21 and since that is unacceptable to me, I'm serious about the lifestyle changes that I'm making.

My SO has 2 stepsons and 2 sons from a previous marriage. He tells stories about how his oldest would ask for kool-aid BY NAME at the age of 13 months. I've gotten into arguments with him at the grocery store when he's wanted to buy cookies or chips for the baby.

His argument was that sugar was natural. I told him that cocaine and marijuana are natural too, and that we might as well get the baby hooked on everything. Since he is a retired cop, that stopped him cold, and we now severely limit how often the baby gets these items.

I was shocked to discover that not only do these so-called food items not have any nutritive value, but that some of them are actually anti-nutrients, in that they cause your body to lose health in the actions of digesting and attempting to utilize the calories.
