^_^ You're right, I do sound like a teacher sometimes. Maybe I am taking this grades thing a little too far... My parents want me to make straight A's on report cards, so if I don't win scholarships or anything, I might actually get the attention of a school. But the kids at my school are very lax about their schoolwork. Nobody works ahead of time and later complain that the teachers "pick on them" and that school is sooooo stressful. I guess since I couldn't rant at a girl muttering about how disrespectful teachers are during a lecture, I let it out here.
  • About the language thing, I kind of know that feeling... I wanted to take Latin, but our school stopped offering it. As long as you study, French isn't that bad... For me, Japanese was kind of easy... I was teaching myself the language... The grammar is very strict and pronounciation isn't a problem, except for maybe the "r" sounds. Memorizing Kanji is the only hard part... It could be worse: This person on a message board once said that her school required you take one year of Spanish before taking any other language.
  • Lots of people are shocked when me or my best friend tell them to call me "Shark." My best friend often uses my real name, because she's so used to it. She's one of the few people who I don't mind calling me by my real name. I guess it's okay if I say my first name, because it's extremely common: Sarah. It's a nice name, but it's way too popular. Yes, it is very possible to have two Sarahs in one class who have the same last initial. No, having an unusual last name will not save a "Sarah." Jason? One of my cousins is named Jason. It's a good name.
  • Subjects: Lots of people hate history and literature. "All the stories in these books are dumb!" -- A comment from one insightful class mate. I should have known better.
