Huh, I've gone to church all my life, I've preached sermons that get standing ovations, I've taught sunday school and directed christmas pageants. And I still like to think that I've escaped any "brain washing" in church. Church will always be something horrible to you guys, because you've closed your minds to the possibility of any higher existence. Fine. It's great that you can live your lives with such confidence. But you have to understand, for me and for millions of others, church is not a means to keep us down and to brainwash us into doing whatever the hell it is you think churches make us do. Going to church is a way to learn about our history, about the our culture, and about the world around us. It isn't anyone forcing thoughts of what "the end" will bring us, it's allowing us to think for ourselves and decide what we think is true. Honest to god, it depresses the hell out of me to hear that you guys have had such bad expiriences with religion, but condeming it all the way you do isn't going to solve anything, with yourself or with the churches. Bah... excuse my rant. I'm just sick and goddamn tired of stupid people saying stupid things, pretending they know everything there is to know about religion and at the same time bragging about how much they've distanced themselves from it. It's not possible to do both of thoes things.
