Ikari watched the fox-spirit on his chest, some parts of him marvelling that he was even still alive to behold such a wonder, and yet others still insisting he had been to weak, to unresolved to die, and as such, would remain on this earth until his courage could meet his means.

"Honored Lady," he began, restraining the cough that threatened to wrack him, for it would have been impolite, "I will be well, in time... my wounds are not as... severe as they would seem."

He glanced around him for a moment, seeming to take in the audience, and decided that discretion was the better part of valor in this instance. "I do not rightly know how I came to be in this cellar... was I brought... or transported here? And by whom?"
