This is really interesting. Seems most of us in one way or another are "country folk". I just think it is wonderful for professional people, housewives, parents, grandparents, city folk, and the new generation of young people on this forum have something positive like the Waltons to focus on. I sometimes think I am silly for dwelling on the Waltons and that time period so much, kind of like living in a dream world I guess. But that way of life is so important to me. I love the simpler times, the importance of family values, which seems to be lost these days. I am an Oklahoma girl. When I first began learning about draft horses I did go to Ohio to Amish country to learn. Living with the Amish for a week was a whole 'nother world too. I loved every minute of it. I keep telling everyone if gas gets too high I can hitch up a team and wagon and drive them to work. I sometimes drive them to the feed store for feed. I also do my chuckwagon cooking so who needs electricity?! And for you Little House of the Prairie fans we went 60 miles across the prairie in my covered wagon last fall for Oklahoma's centennial. I definitely was born 100 years too late! Thanks to all of you for your replies. I did not want to be personal, but I consider you my Walton friends and was just curious about you. Catie, I will check out your website too. Thanks!
