Subject: $100,000 reward offered for info. on info. stealers

A break-in at Tri-West insurance,an insurance company that provides insurance services to the United States Military ,resulted in the theft of personal information, possibly for the purpose of identity theft.

The personal and medical information of a reported 500,000 persons was noticed in mid-December at a location in Arizona.

Tri-West has put out a series of bulletins (click here),and offered a reward for information leading to the... Letters were sent to some of the persons whose records were affected.

From the Tri-West statements, any phone calls recieved pertaining to the situation should be reported.

"TriWest will not be calling any of our beneficiaries to verify or reconstruct any of the stolen files. Beneficiaries should not provide or verify such information if they receive telephone calls asking for it. If such calls are received, the caller’s name and telephone number should be noted and reported to local Police authorities. If you have any information that you believe may be helpful to this case, please contact “Silent Witness” at 1800-343-TIPS (1-800-343-8477)."-from Tri-West website instructions
