Sorry David. Well, I couldn't help myself. I voted for McGettigan at the last minute. Talked to alot of my friends, they did too.

I guess I couldn't care too much about the sheriffs beefs. They couldn't sell me that their life was the hell they made it out to be. I did talk to a county employee. He gave me his inside take. McGettigan was indeed doing an impressive job. Looking into his impressive Bio/Chem terrorism response plan made me look at sheriffs complaints as selfih and petty. The complaints were much whining that had to do with them losing overtime pay and perks most working people would only dream of.

But really, Squires was a LOUSY choice to overtake McG. He didn't seem to have a clue about the position. Especially when he kept saying in the debate that "I'll have other people do that job" when asked specifics on job responsibilities. The guy didn't even bother to put together a serious platform. GOP simply threw up an antiquated has-been stiff.
