In reply to: Lord Byron 's message, "a few thoughs on my first sensuality workshop at One Taste" on 10:50:54 08/22/04 Sun

Hi All,

Now that I finally got home ;) I wanted to thank everyone for participating and setting up the class. Truly a life-changing experience.

As I said during the class, I don't think I've ever heard as much truth spoken about the human condition, and in particular about the relationships between men and women, in so short a period of time. To reprise my phrase during the class, I felt cleansed by a shower of truth and I emerged metaphysically cleaner and energetically sparkling.

I haven't felt like I have allowed as much of myself out into public, as I did at the Lexington, in years. Years. Years. Far too friggin' long. :)

I want to (somewhat) briefly address Lord Byron's comments regarding the mixing of people of different sexual orientations in the class. Like Byron, I too was initially stung by the expression by some of the lesbian gals that they didn't want to be around for the male DO demo. As I later expressed in the class, though I tried very hard not to take the sentiment personally, it was difficult not to. I also REALLY appreciated Nicole interjecting to point out that, in my zeal to respond to those sentiments, I was not actually fully hearing and accepting the sentiments, and, therefore, not fully hearing and accepting those who expressed them. But I got it right away when Nicole pointed it out.

It was still hard to swallow the pain of that "rejection" by the lesbians. However, it turned out to be a wonderful object lesson regarding the reciprocity that lies at the foundation of authentic human intimacy: in order to be seen and heard completely one must be willing to see and hear completely. Namaste. Thank you Nicole.

So with the above sentiments in mind, I will gently and respectfully suggest to Byron that he look at how, in his determination to protect himself from the pain of the lesbian's "rejection" he has (or would like to), perhaps unknowingly, actually elminated the possibility for a communication with them that might result in him getting what he wants: to be seen, loved, and accepted for who he is. I don't mind that people of other sexual orientations were in the class. In fact, it made for a deeper, richer experience for me. My only caveat would be that there always be someone of the desired gender to partner up with to do the exercises.

So that's it for me for now. If anyone would like to drop me a line feel free.

Peace out,

Guy
