All right, looks like Henry Thomae done went and grabbed a bull by the horns! He wanted a race and by god the SPS Race Crew is going to give him one. They are taking Tweety out of Index Race tuning and they are letting it run free. No more of that half throttle, all motor BS! Oh no, they are opening up the flood gates and are about to unleash a river of pain on Henry's "Overtaker" Nova.

This race will start a new Ultimate Outlaw battle in South Texas. Winner will take home some cash and a huge 5 foot trophy! That's right, I said...5 foot trophy. The trophy will go to the winning crew until they are called out again to defend their Ultimate Outlaw title. They lose the race, they got to relinquish the trophy to the other crew. The trophy is being sponsored by Thomae Racing and Thomae Nitrous Supply. Come on out Friday night for the battle of the year. You will not want to miss this one!!!....

Running for the #1 Spot will be The Ghost -vs- The Bounty Hunter. This is a 10.5 tire battle royale. The Ghost has held on to that #1 Spot for a long time. And the Bounty Hunter is coming to collect. Before the Overtaker and Tweety do battle, place your bets and get ready to see who will own the #1 Spot at the end of the night.

The opening act of the night! Jason's Top Notch S-10 will be going head to head with Charlie Deleon's Rusty Stang. We haven't seen Charlie defend his spot in a while. And let me tell you, he puts up a damn good fight. Jason has his work cut out for him because Joe Dirt does not give up easy. It's a Ford -vs- Chevy fast fight to the end. Come on out and cheer for your favorite race crew. See you all at the races....

You know, in all the excitement from Friday nights racers, I totally forgot to thank the guys at the track. Paul Ebrom and the track announcer from Friday night did an awesome job. Announcing the races, the name of the racers and why they were racing was awesome! It let the crowd know what was going on and what was about to happen. We really appreciate the shout out over the PA system. It is nice to be recognized once in a while for our hard work. The racers and the TDR staff really appreciate it.

With that said, here are some cool pictures from Friday nights track action. My son Abel and my buddy Abel, managed to shoot a bunch of cool pics of the racers. Check them out below by clicking on the banner. Thank You....

All right, as promised, more video footage from last night. We have video footage of all three match races from last night. This time from the top end. My boys were camped out near the ET booth, standing on top of my wife's truck. We have always wanted to get some top end footage to see what it looks like and well, it freaking rocks...LOL! Hope you all enjoy them. We also have the track action video from Friday night. You will get to see the match racers doing some testing before the big races. In case you are wondering who owns the Yellow Camaro we recorded video of, that's Rollie (SP?) Ramirez, son of Mike Ramirez. This is Rollie's first hot rod and they were out there doing some testing. Car is awesome guys. Hope to see more of it in the near future. That's it for now. Going to take a break before posting up the pictures from last night. Enjoy the video's and we will see you all later.

What in the world was that all about? Didn't anyone tell Sergio Garcia that he cannot run that fast at EIRT?...LOL! I knew we were going to have us a an awesome 7 second side by side race, but I honestly had no idea Sergio was going to rip out a 7.56 @ 182mph pass! Henry Thomae wasn't far behind with the Overtaker Nova running a 7.94 @ 172mph. This is one for the TDR history books. Congratulations to SPS Racing Engines for their huge win last night. And a big thanks goes to Henry Thomae and Thomae Nitrous Supply for sponsoring the awesome trophies for the racers. Man, I honestly do not know where we go from here.

Ever since I took over TDR, my goal was to get the Valley Racers up to par with the rest of the country. And I can honestly say that the goal has been accomplished. It was proven last night by Sergio and Henry that Edinburg International Racetrack will hold down some very fast cars. And there is ample room to stop. Step your game up, or get left in the dust. Where are the other 7 second monsters in the RGV. I know you all are out there. Waiting, watching to see if someone else could do it. Well, it's been done. Julio Cantu came up to me last night and he was very impressed with all the races. But most of all, he was happy that all doubts about how fast you can go at EIRT had been laid to rest. Come on out boys, the water is fine.....

All right, on to the video of last nights race. Now this is a quick video I made last night before going to bed. We also have video footage of all the races from the top end. You will want to check back later for those cause they are over the top. The footage will give you a good idea of what two 7 second monsters look like when they are coming at you. Hope you all enjoy this and come back for more...

In the small tire, restrained by rules, category, we had the race for the #1 Spot between Tommy Hearn's "Ghost Stang" and Ruben Ybarra's "Bounty Hunter" Chevy II. In earlier testing, The Bounty Hunter seemed to be having some nitrous issues. But nitrous issues is just not something that stops Ruben Ybarra and his crew. They did what they could and came to line swinging. The Ghost, piloted by Ed Galbraith out of Alice, Texas, seemed calm and ready to go. This race was also as close as they come with The Ghost ripping out an 8.47 pass to The Bounty Hunters 8.59 pass. Awesome race guys and congrats to Tommy Hearn and crew for hanging on to the #1 Spot.

**CLICK ON PIC FOR VIDEO**

Running for the #5 Spot were Jason Cantu and the current #5 Spot holder, Charlie "Joe Dirt" Deleon. This was the first time in a long time that Charlie Deleon had to defend a spot. He has been busy winning the Pro Gas races and various bracket race events. Jason, you might remember is the guy that owned the very fast Honda Civic on the show, Pass Time, when they were in San Antonio, Texas. Jason decided he was done with Import racing. So he stepped it up and got himself Danny Ybarra's ex Pro Street S-10. The little truck still has some bugs to work out. And the race with Charlie last night was it's first attempt at moving up the Top 10 ladder. Don't count Jason out yet. He will be back.

But don't be too quick to count Charlie Deleon out either. Word is, the car will be going to Roy Perez at Eagle Race cars for some suspension work. In preperation for a new Bullet that will be fitted between the strut towers of his "Rusty" Stang. Word is, Charlie wants to go play in the 5.50 Pro Comp index race. And he has himself a recipe on just how he is going to do that. So stay tuned, this is a never ending story with these racers. There is only one way for them to go and that is UP!....Check out the video of the race for the #5 Spot below....

That is all I have for right now dudes. I will be back with more later with pics from last nights action and of course, more video. So stay tuned to THE FASTEST website in all of South Texas, Texasdragracing.com. Home of the fastest races in all of South Texas.

These are all the winners & runner up pics I have from this weekend. We took some on Friday. We didn't get the winners of QUICK because they didn't even race. From what I heard, they went to the tower and played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" and that was it. They never came back around for their pics. On Saturday, I stuck around until 6:00pm, before my leg started killing me and my kids were tired. So we went to get something to eat. I went home to get my medecine and headed back out to the track to finish up. By the time I got there at 8:30pm, the races were over. Issac told me we would get the pics taken care of on Sunday.

On Sunday, I took pics of eveyone that came up. Since we had a bunch of trophies still left in the boxes, I waited around to see if anyone else would come up. But, after sitting there in 100+ degree weather, waiting for more racers to come up, no one ever did. So I called it a day and a weekend. So, if I didn't get your pic, not myu fault...LOL! I tried. Maybe Julio should give me the checks. If you don't come up for your pic, you don't get paid and I get to keep the money...LOL! Yeah right...haha. Anyway, back to work I go. Again, congratulations to everyone that won their respective classes this weekend. Good job on going round after round to finally come out on top.

Things got started a little late today due to the rains from last night. But I think the rain was a blessing because it cleaned up the track surface. Making for some very tight racing action today. Some of the out of town cars were still having some trouble making it down the racing surface. But with a little chassis tuning, I don't think it will be a problem for them at all. Then there we some out of town racers who had no problems at all. They relied on raw horsepower and driving skills to get them thru for the win light. Here is the last photo gallery from this weekends races. I will be back with all of the winners from this weekends races. And of course, some cool race action video. I don't work tomorrow, so I will be up getting everything updated tonight. So, if you are off tomorrow too, come on back and check for updates. By the way, make sure you hit F5 on your keyboard to reload the page with all of the newest content.

Caught this little critter crawling on my shoe when I was snapping some photos. Scared the crap out of me. I have run into snakes, tarantulas, toads and just about all types of critters out at EIRT. Even had a run in with a rabbit once...LOL!

If there was one word that would descibe Saturday, that word would have to be HOT!!!...Man, it was 150 degrees out there..LOL! Or at least something close to that. With rain clouds hanging around and little wind blowing, it made for a very hot and humid day. Even so, the races still went on and the battles were hard fought. It was nice to see some cars come in from out of town. Some of these cars I had seen in San Antonio, Tx and in Houston, Tx. I hope eveyone had as much fun as we had shooting your rides. What can we say about Friday night? Other than it was freaking sick! The Pro Comp and Pro Gas dudes really put on a great show for the race fans. In the Pro Comp class, even though it is a 5.50 index class, it looked like all of the cars were set on kill. You guys are going to love the video of these races. There were also some sick races during the qualifying runs. I say races because judging by how hard the cars were being pushed and the fact that they were all breaking past the 5.50 index, one would think that some grudge races were being settled. All right, here are the pics from Friday night. I will be back with more...

WHO WON WHAT?

Wanted to give you guys a quick update of how the 3-day Memorial Race is going. So far so good. Last night the track ran Pro-Comp, Quick and the 1/4 mile clash. It looked like a repeat of last month in all catergories. In Pro-Gas 6.50 Index, Charlie Delon's two car team took the win. Charlie, driving Rusty and Noe driving El Chapulin, both made it to the finals. Charlie owns both cars, so it was an easy win. Congratulations Charlie and crew on your win. In the Pro-Comp 5.50 Index, it was a repeat of last month for the Espericueta Crew. It was a long hard battle to get there. But in the end, Ray Espericueta came out on top over Ricky Garcia, driving The Black Bastard Stang. Awesome job dudes. The races last night were over the top.

SATURDAY RACE...

Looks like EIRT is expecting a HUGE crowd of out of towners. When we got there last night, we noticed almost the entire pit area was roped off and off limits to local racers. Heck, even the stands were gone. If this is a sign of what is coming. I can't hardly wait to get out there today. Isaac said there are Pro-Stock's, Pro-Mod's and a bunch of other crazy rides coming down for this race. Hell, I was even told that a PROFFESSIONAL Photographer, hired by the NHRA was coming down to snap pics. Cool, that means I might actually get to sit back and watch my boys race. Looking forward to this race bigtime.

WHAT TIME DOES ALL THIS START?

Reading information off the Edinburgracetrack.com website, it looks like the gates for racers will open at 10:00AM today. Which means, they are already open. Gates for spectators will open at 12:00 Noon. As far as entree fees, I hear it is super cheap to attend this race. I hear they were even passing out coupons to spectators. For more information, call the race trak at (956)318-0355 or log on to their website at www.edinburgracetrack.com

TRACK RECORD....

Now, you didn't hear this from me, but word is some badass rail is coming down to break the track record at Edinburg International Racetrack. Word is this racer is looking to put his ride in the 3 second zone to the 1/8 mile. If you have never in your life seen a 3 second run, other than on TV, then get your butts on out to the track and check this out. Be part of racing history in the Valley.

Well, that is the update for now. Got to get dressed and ready to go. See you all later....Oh yeah, about pics and videos; Dudes, it is going to be a long race weekend. So don't expect everything up quickly. We are going to have a ton of editing and work to do. So please be patient. Thanks again and we will see you all at the races....

I see we got, or should I say, had, a couple of dudes complaining about us not being quick with the pics and video's. Like someone else said, life sometimes get's in the way. Example, I went into the hospital on Sunday and didn't get out until this morning at 6:00AM. Don't know what is up, but my left leg went numb on me and it stayed like that. The doctor has me on morphine and Vicodin to help with the tingling sensation. It's helping, but not knowing what is wrong just bothers the hell out of me.

Anyway, the two dudes that were bitching are now banned. Why? Well, because it just pisses me off how some people can be. If you have no clue about what is going on, then don't make any assumptions. Just wait it out. I will get everything up as soon as I am able to. Do you really think my sons and I go out to the track for nothing? No, we want to get everything up as fast as we can, but sometimes, it is just not possible. So everyone pleas be patient and we will post updates as time permits.

On to the video's, first video we have tonight is of Ray Espericueta's unfortunate incident from Friday night. On a test hit with their awesome Nova, something in the front-end gave out, causing the car to take a sharp right and coliding with the guard rail. Check out the slow motion video. You can see how much the guard rail gave. I believe this helped keep the damage to the car to a minimum. Ray came out of it fine and I am sure the car is already being repaired as we speak. Check out the video....

**CLICK ON PIC FOR VIDEO**

**UPDATE** I got some calls that the video was not working. I have updated the file and it should be working now.

Doing some testing and tuning on Friday night was the new monster from the SPS Racing camp. I sure wish we could come up with a wicked name for this ride. Anyone have any ideas? Judging by the easy test hits, this ride is going to be an animal. A 5.30 test hit to the 1/8 mile on motor was damn impressive. According to someone from their camp, they are looking at ET's in the 4.20 range once the nitrous comes online. Awesome ride dudes. But, if you will allow me a bit of constructive advice, you all might want to keep the dudes lining Sergio up to a minimum. At one point, I counted 8 guys lining the car up. My son was having a very hard time snapping a pic of the car because of all the people surrounding it. I mean, not even a Pro-Stock team or a Top-Fuel team has 8 dudes lining the car up. Anyway, that is just my opinion...LOL!....Here is the video...

**CLICK ON PIC FOR VIDEO**

Up next, how about THE DEBUT!!!!....The Phenom was finally back out at EIRT, making some wicked test passes. The Phenom looking to be riding nice and clean down the track. I could tell Ralph "The Hired Gun" wasn't really pushing the car hard. But when he does, watch out. We need some challenges. I hope they get this awesome ride ironed out soon. I think it would look really nice somewhere up in the Top 10, don't you???...Check out the video...

**CLICK ON PIC FOR VIDEO**

And finally, what you all have been waiting for. The world famous and always exciting, Track Action video!!!...Don't know what my son Abel, cooked up for us this week, since I haven't watched it myself. But he told me it is about 15 minutes long and pretty sweet. Check it out below...

**CLICK ON PIC FOR VIDEO**

I really hope you all enjoyed that. My boys and I work really hard to make sure are fans here in the Valley, all over the United States, and our fans in the military have something to enjoy when it comes to drag racing action. The Vicodin pill is really doing it's job now and I am about to crash out. I leave you with a few pics from Friday night. I am still waiting on my friend Abel to get me his pics. I will update the gallery as soon as I hear from him. Thanks to everyone that supports us and we'll see you all later....

**UPDATE** I have added about 100 pics to the gallery.

I would like to thank Joel, Javi Deleon and Ruben Sanchez, for getting our Pontiac Trans Am dialed in. If it wasn't for these guy's, I would be totally lost. I am a total old school dude. I can tune the hell out of a carbed engine. But when it comes to EFI, you might as well be talking Russian to me. Cause I don't understand a thing you are saying. Our saga started last year, when we were tuning the Trans Am for a match race. During the dyno runs, our transmission finally let go. It was already going out and it just decided that it didn't want to play anymore. When we left the shop that night, we managed to pull 308 rear wheel horse power out of the Trans Am. Keep in mind, the car was sitting on 139,900 miles.

Fast forward 6 months. The car was finally ready to head back to the dyno. This time around, it came back with a brand new Joel Alvarado (JR's TRANSMISSIONS) built 4L60E overdrive. Jr. and I go back about 18 years and he really helped me out with this transmission. And after driving the car around, let me tell you, I am impressed as always with his work. We also decided to bolt on a set of headers and an off road Y-pipe. With all that done, the Trans Am finally hit the Dynojet rollers again on Monday. On the first pull and without anything done to it, the Trans Am responded with 315 rwhp & 325lb of torque to the rollers. After some tweaking by Ruben on Deleon's Dynojet Dyno, the car responded with 322 rwhp & 328lb of torque. All this was before 6000 rpm. Not bad for a mostly stock LS1 that turned the clock to 140,000 miles while it was on the rollers.

I seriously recommend you all take your hotrods over to Deleon Auto Accs. Dynojet Dyno for some fine tuning. Whether you are carburator or EFI, Deleon Auto Accs. can hook you up. You will walk out of there with a huge smile and a faster, smoother, happier ride. While you are there, check out there vast supply of race parts. If you are lucky, you might even get a tour of their state of the art engine machine shop. I am telling you, these guys don't mess around. From mild to wild, Deleon Auto Accessories can hook you up. Don't forget to tell them Texasdragracing.com sent you. Thanks again guy's, the Toecutter Trans Am has never felt so good.

Got the vid's and pics from last night done. First up, let me congratulate the little man from the Mike Jr. crew. He went a .001 light last night and took the win in the reaction race. Not bad for his first time out in his Jr. dragster. Good job. Hope to see you in the winners circle again.

I also want to thank Deleon Auto for their help with our Trans Am. The bird ran flawlessly last night. Ruben tuned the car exactly like we asked. At 3600 lbs, with driver, the Trans Am ran a 13.08 @ 105 mph on motor. Not bad at all considering it was super hot last night.

To cure that problem, we opened up the bottle and let the nitrous fly. On a 50 shot of juice, the Trans Am ripped out a 12.36 @ 116 mph! And that was with an easy launch and a 2.0 60ft. We are super pleased with the cars performance and look forward to our nex time out. All right, here are the pictures and a super huge 18 minute video from last night.

Well, not totally new. Word from sources is that this car has been in the Valley for a while now. Matter of fact, Henry Thomae was actually going to buy this car before he bought The Overtaker. But a price could not be agreed upon and Henry moved on. Only thing I know right now is that this car was built by "Skinny Kid Racecars" and it is supposed to be certified to run in the sixes on 10.5W tires. It is a fully built, full boogie all out double frame rail tube chassis race car. Built by Pro's. It is an awesome ride, no doubt. Again, word from sources is that THIS is the fastest ride in ALL of South Texas. If this is the car that is going to run Henry's Overtaker, then LET'S GET IT ON!!!!...The TDR Fans are waiting to see an awesome race!!!

All right, video's are finally done and I believe we are caught up with all the updates. First video for tonight is of Henry Thomae's "Overtaker" Nova making running in the 7's look easy. Henry didn't do like some others who run only one 7 second pass and can't back it up. No, Henry ran three 7 second passes BACK TO BACK!!!...We got two of the awesome runs on video for the fans. Good job Henry and crew. I know some people had their doubts, but this proves that the Undertaker Racing team is certainly the team to watch for. By the way, Henry wants to know if anyone with a similar car wants to match race. I know there are plenty out there now, so let's see if we can get something going. Check out the video...

All right, hope you all enjoyed that. Next up is the world famous Track Action video. This one is about 20 minutes long and it includes highlights of the best action from Friday night. I know the Corpus guy's will certainly recognize their rides in there. Thanks again for making it down to the Valley and we look forward to your next visit.

Want to thank the Quick Silver Crew for trying to keep the spot challenges going. We aren't seeing many these days. So their efforts are appreciated. So far, they have challenged Jason for the #9 Spot. Jason posted that he was not going to make it due to a new car purchase. They then challenged for the #8 Spot. Spoke with Zeke on Friday and I think he confused Jason's post for a Quick Silver reply. Anyway, due to work, Zeke & John will not be able to make the call either. So, this moves the Quick Silver crew up to the #8 Spot and opens up the #9 and #10 Spot. If anyone wants to run for it, let us know.

I would also like to see some updates from the other spot holders. I know Charlie, Juan Penaflor, Tommy Hearn, and Ruben Ybarra are all up and running. But, I have heard rumors that Rigo will not be racing his Camaro anymore. If someone can confirm this for me, I would appreciate it. I also heard Joel Cura's booger is down, due to a blown head gasket. But, I know he that is like a 30 minute swap for Joel & Crew. By the way, Joel Cura opened up a real nice shop in McAllen for his fleet service business. Hey Joel, how about a bar-b-que at your shop to break it in? By the way, I still do not know who challenged you from Mexico. I need a pic of the car to make it all official like. I will update you all as soon as I get something back. That's all I got, carry on.

All right, have we got a treat. Been doing yard work since yesterday. A came inside to see if anything good is on the boob tube. And, not much out there. So, let's make our own TV. How about 25 awesome minutes of Edinburg International Racetrack TRACK ACTION!!!....That is right. 25 whole minutes of drag racing. With all the commercials and all that non-sense on TV. TDR TV is the best bang for the buck. So, go grab your favorite cold drink. Grab some chips and kick back. While you do that, I will be working on video from this Friday night. If everything goes well, I should have it up about the time you finish watching this video. So, stay tuned to TDR TV!!!!....

Not a lot of cars out last night. But there were still some really nice rides out for the cruise in. There were a few 2nd generation Trans Am out. And a very nice 3rd Gen Trans Am out of Mission, Texas. Too bad Pontiac is dead now. I really never thought I would live to see this day. Watch for the price of Trans Am skyrocket soon. Good thing we have two at home. Check out the pics and get ready for the next cruise in next week. This one will go back to Texas Tops in McAllen. Red Robin will also be hosting an awesome show to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation. More info on that later.

Well, the time has come.... We're gonna be headed down your way Friday night to see who's car can claim the Fastest Street Car.

The rules are pretty simple. Basically everyone has to drive their car to/from the track, make at least two passes, then drive it back home. The quickest E/T brings home the title.

As always, we really enjoy the hospitality and all the awesome cars down in Edinburg. It should be a blast! See you guys Friday!

Talladega is the home of The Big One, the wrecks that take out cars by the dozen and change the entire race, but it's safe to say it'll be a long time before we see anything this spectacular -- and terrifying -- again. Check out the video at 1.30.

As you all can see, we were running way behind on the picture galleries. The main reason for that is the problems I have been having with Time Warner cable. They are supposed to show up again tomorrow to replace my modem. Hopefully, this will get us back to normal. All the picture galleries have now been posted and we are up to date.

We got home today at around 3:30pm from New Braunfels, Texas. We went up there for their huge, annual, 3 day swap meet. We came away with some awesome deals. I highly encourage anyone who has never been to one of these to take a trip up there. Next week, we will be going to the Pate Swap Meet in Ft. Worth, Texas. Let's see what we can find there. All right, that is my weekend update. I have a track action video from this past Friday to work on. I will do my best to have it up tonight.

Before I go, we want to congratulate Cedric for his win this Friday during the Truck night bracket race. Cedric went thru a ton of cars to finally come out on top. I know, some of you all think he was driving an El Camino. But nope, Cedric's ride a GMC Caballero. That's right, a GMC. Awesome ride Cedric. Hope to see you in the winners circle again.
