When it is not one thing, it is another. I recently had Time Warner add a phone line at my house. We haven't had a house phone in about 10 years. But, since my wife's office is at home. She needed a land line. Anyway, long story short. It somehow screwed up my internet connection royaly. My upload speeds are terrible. I am able to upload three files at a time before my FTP shuts down and kicks me off. A technician is supposed to come over tomorrow to fix the issues. We should be back to normal then.

Oh, and speaking of things going wrong. I almost made you all and my own kids orphans on Friday. When I got home from work around 6pm, my kids had our 2000 Trans Am up in the air, trying to install a new set of headers. I climbed under the car to make sure the jackstands were aligned properly. Just as my son was lowering the car on to jackstands the jackstand on my side gave out and the car landed on top of me. I was laying on my right side, so it jammed my left arm into my ribcage. I passed out for a bit, I guess from the pressure of the car landing on top of me.

Within seconds, one of my sons was on the right fender, my other boy was on the left fender and my other son (Thank God for having three sons huh?) was pumping the floor jack back up as fast as he could. All the while, my wife was pulling on my legs trying to get me out from under the car. Got to give her kudos for her efforts. I am 6ft 2in and all of 350lbs. There was no way she was going to pull me out..LOL! Anyway, as soon as the pressure let off, I took a huge inhale and I came back to. You know how they say that you see your whole life flash in front of you before you die? Naw, didn't happen. But I will say, everything got real quiet and really peaceful. Didn't feel nothing really. Well, that was then. Right now, my arm is killing me and I might have to go for some X-Ray's cause I got a rib that is bothering me.

Despite all that, we still made it out to the races on Friday night. Talk about die hard huh?...LOL! My wife wanted me to go to the hospital. And I was like, uh..no way. The guy's are racing tonight. We have to be there for them. So off we went to the races. Just as I expected, everyone put on an awesome show. Yeah, it's not headsup racing. But it is just as exciting to me. The Super-Gas class was full of both street cars and bracket cars. For the second time in the race series this year, a bracket car took the win. Congrats to Sugar Ray Brown for taking the win. And congrats to his son in law, Ed Galbraith for taking the runner up spot. Awesome racing guy's. Honorable mention goes to Joel Cura for giving them all headaches in his bad ass turbo charged street stang.

In Pro-Gas, The Cameron County crew gave it a strong fight. But Henry Thome, Ruben Ybarra and the Hernandez Brothers were all knocked out early in the race. Leaving only one Cameron County team car, The Ghost, owned by Tommy Hearn, driven by Ed Galbraith, in the hunt for the finals. A strong effort and awesome driving got them there against non other than the Espericueta Crew and their killer small block powered Vega Wagon. Piloted by Ray Espericueta, the wagon put on an awesome show with what seemed like 15,000 RPM burnouts and some nasty launches. In the final, it would be Espericuata Racing going home with the win when The Ghost flooded over and shut off after the burnout. Who will take the win next month and take the points lead? We will find out next month.

Here are the pics of the other race from Friday night, the 1/4 Mile Clash. Congrats to Abel on his runner up win. Just know that the red Firebird you went up against is a muliple national event winner. That red Bird is no joke. It is serious about it's game and it has a trunk full of Wally's to prove it. I will be back with more pictures and video of all the racing action later. Hopefully tomorrow night after our web connections is repaired. So stay tuned for more action.

OOPS! Forgot to mention one other race from Friday. They also run what is called a QUICK class. Which is made up of cars that are capable of running faster than 5.00's or something like that. In that class, Albert Rodriguez took the win in his dragster. Unfortunately, he didn't bring the car up. But that didn't stop Albert from hamming it up for the camera. We got a pic of him and his golfcart. Don't know who got second place cause they did not show up for their picture. Sorry....

Check this out, two of our very own TDR racers went against each other in Race 2 of the bracket bash. Both Charlie Deleon and Mike McFarland were running in the Sportsman category. They both chopped away at some 30+ brackets cars to go on to the final. In the end, it was Charlie who came out on top. But that takes nothing away from Mike. This was Mike's first race since taking a six month hiatus. Awesome jobs dudes!

Also, congratulations to Ed Galbraith for winning not only the first race, but also the second race in the Electronics Category. That is not an easy task guy's. Winning one race is hard enough. But to go on and win both races on the same day tells you what kind of racer you are dealing with. Maybe this is the reason why Ed is the chosen driver for Tommy Hearn's Ghost Stang. And look where it sits right now. In the #1 Texasdragracing.com spot. And no one has the guts to come after this team. And I don't blame them. Good job guy's.

All right, here are the rest of the winners pics from Saturday night. Again, we are having some technical difficulties with our internet service. But we will have full updates as soon as the problem is resolved tomorrow. So stay tuned to The Fastest Website in South Texas, Texasdragracing.com....

Well, as you all have read already. The track was rained out on Friday. There is nothing we can do about that. And we do applaud the track crew for doing their best to get the track cleaned up to continue the races. But, it was a lost battle. Right around 11:30pm, the sky's opened up again. Even so, we still managed to get some video of the action. And we also got the video between the Quick Silver Camaro and Juan's 03 Cobra. Check out both video's below.

Subject: So, I went to the track tonight April, 10. I took a newbie wanting to learn to race. Whe got their at 10 pm hoping for a little track time, a run, maybe two would have been cool. We went straight to tech and then to the staging lanes. At 10:15 it began drizaling and the cars stopped racing. The track kept everyone waighting till the drizal would stop then clean it. It finally stopped for a bit, then 2 pairs of cars made runs and then the rain came again. Ultimatly, at 12pm, several cleanup attempts, the officials called it a night. The mest up thing was there was no rain check given. Issac said, "if half the event has been run then no rain check". Mest up considering it was only 15 minutes after 8pm and Issac had been anouncing that a drizal and cleanup had happened earlier which shouldv'e been the 15 minutes there. Lets make it fair. I will not take anything away from the effort done by the track employees in their track prep attempt. Good try guys

All right, got some more video's done! For tonight, I have the qualifying and the finals of Pro-Comp 5.50 Index. Pro-Comp is the new name for Pro-Street. We didn't have the full 16 car field but the cars that did show up put on a hell of a good show. I think the one car that stood out the most was Faustino Hernandez in his awesome big red Camaro. With wheels up launches on every pass, it was a crowd pleaser for sure. Faustino made a hard charge, taking out class favorite, Henry Thomae on his way to the finals. In the end, Faustino came up against the Bounty Hunter Chevy II of Ruben Ybarra, owner of RGVMUDDRAGS.COM. The race was as close as they come. With Ruben taking the win light with a 5.57@124mph pass vs 'Tino's 5.64@122mph run. Awesome races dudes. Here are the video's of all the action. Enjoy....

Dammit! Dudes, I have been working on a kick ass video for the Super Gas race since about 6pm today. It was awesome, with a killer intro, some kickin' tunes and video editing. So I go to save it and when it's done, I shut down my video editor. I play it and it is missing the race of the final between The Terminator Corvette and Alan Jacob's Malibu..aaaargghhh!!!...

Yeah, I am pretty pissed at myself right now for not saving the project. Oh well, I wanted to get at least one video up tonight. So I did a quick edit and here it is. These are all the rounds of the 6.50 Pro-Gas race from Friday night. The races were pretty close. With most of the dudes having a hard time staying in the 6.50 range. This new class promises to have some of the best action for the 2009 racing season. Enjoy the video. It's not what I wanted to post. But it's all I got right now.

Ken Nelson and his Kool Bus Wheelstander had an unfortunate accident at EIRT this past Saturday night. Looks like he hung on to the wheelstand for just a little too long, the bus started to drift towards the guardrail and he had no choice but to ride it out. Good news is, Ken walked away and was signing autographs for the kids in the pits after the wreck. Ken will be back stronger than ever. Wish you the best Ken and the kids of the Rio Grande Valley look forward to your return.

Sorry about the quick update this morning guy's. I was posting while getting ready for work. About Saturday, oh man, what an amazing day. My kids went bracket racing...LOL! We ran both our El Camino and our Wagon in the Sportsman (foot brake) class. There are some heavy hitters in that class. But my son, Jr., still managed to go three rounds. Chris, driving the El Camino, went two rounds. Overall, we all had an awesome time and we look forward to the next race on April 18th.

Now, about the Thunderjam show. Man, I think there were something like 50,000 people at the track..LOL! Wow! What a great turnout for the event. The Fuel Altered's were insane. Shockwave was way over the top. And Ken Nelson, crashing the Kool Bus was not so kool, but he came out ok and said he would be back. Wish Ken and his wife the best. I know they will be back soon stronger than ever.

My buddy Abel, and myself managed to snap close to 400 pics on Saturday. So make sure you check them all out. About the video's. Dudes, we have a TON of video to edit from this weekend. We will do our best, but it is going to be a couple of days. I will post up as I am finishing up. So make sure you stay tuned for more action. Here are some highlight pics for you guy's from the race.
