When it is not one thing, it is another. I recently had Time Warner add a phone line at my house. We haven't had a house phone in about 10 years. But, since my wife's office is at home. She needed a land line. Anyway, long story short. It somehow screwed up my internet connection royaly. My upload speeds are terrible. I am able to upload three files at a time before my FTP shuts down and kicks me off. A technician is supposed to come over tomorrow to fix the issues. We should be back to normal then.
Oh, and speaking of things going wrong. I almost made you all and my own kids orphans on Friday. When I got home from work around 6pm, my kids had our 2000 Trans Am up in the air, trying to install a new set of headers. I climbed under the car to make sure the jackstands were aligned properly. Just as my son was lowering the car on to jackstands the jackstand on my side gave out and the car landed on top of me. I was laying on my right side, so it jammed my left arm into my ribcage. I passed out for a bit, I guess from the pressure of the car landing on top of me.
Within seconds, one of my sons was on the right fender, my other boy was on the left fender and my other son (Thank God for having three sons huh?) was pumping the floor jack back up as fast as he could. All the while, my wife was pulling on my legs trying to get me out from under the car. Got to give her kudos for her efforts. I am 6ft 2in and all of 350lbs. There was no way she was going to pull me out..LOL! Anyway, as soon as the pressure let off, I took a huge inhale and I came back to. You know how they say that you see your whole life flash in front of you before you die? Naw, didn't happen. But I will say, everything got real quiet and really peaceful. Didn't feel nothing really. Well, that was then. Right now, my arm is killing me and I might have to go for some X-Ray's cause I got a rib that is bothering me.
Despite all that, we still made it out to the races on Friday night. Talk about die hard huh?...LOL! My wife wanted me to go to the hospital. And I was like, uh..no way. The guy's are racing tonight. We have to be there for them. So off we went to the races. Just as I expected, everyone put on an awesome show. Yeah, it's not headsup racing. But it is just as exciting to me. The Super-Gas class was full of both street cars and bracket cars. For the second time in the race series this year, a bracket car took the win. Congrats to Sugar Ray Brown for taking the win. And congrats to his son in law, Ed Galbraith for taking the runner up spot. Awesome racing guy's. Honorable mention goes to Joel Cura for giving them all headaches in his bad ass turbo charged street stang.

In Pro-Gas, The Cameron County crew gave it a strong fight. But Henry Thome, Ruben Ybarra and the Hernandez Brothers were all knocked out early in the race. Leaving only one Cameron County team car, The Ghost, owned by Tommy Hearn, driven by Ed Galbraith, in the hunt for the finals. A strong effort and awesome driving got them there against non other than the Espericueta Crew and their killer small block powered Vega Wagon. Piloted by Ray Espericueta, the wagon put on an awesome show with what seemed like 15,000 RPM burnouts and some nasty launches. In the final, it would be Espericuata Racing going home with the win when The Ghost flooded over and shut off after the burnout. Who will take the win next month and take the points lead? We will find out next month.

Here are the pics of the other race from Friday night, the 1/4 Mile Clash. Congrats to Abel on his runner up win. Just know that the red Firebird you went up against is a muliple national event winner. That red Bird is no joke. It is serious about it's game and it has a trunk full of Wally's to prove it. I will be back with more pictures and video of all the racing action later. Hopefully tomorrow night after our web connections is repaired. So stay tuned for more action.

OOPS! Forgot to mention one other race from Friday. They also run what is called a QUICK class. Which is made up of cars that are capable of running faster than 5.00's or something like that. In that class, Albert Rodriguez took the win in his dragster. Unfortunately, he didn't bring the car up. But that didn't stop Albert from hamming it up for the camera. We got a pic of him and his golfcart. Don't know who got second place cause they did not show up for their picture. Sorry....
