After, what, 6 years (?) of T&Bait&Switch, T&Bullshit, B&Throbsterpukeramas, T&B Wedding near misses, SSDD, neither characater (nor any on the periphery) being written well or able to move on, I was beginning to see an end to the insanity, one with so much potential story I couldn't see exactly what was coming from 20 miles away. All I could tell was, it looks different. It looks good. And then ... the writer speaks ... (scroll
And Walker is Todd (good - though I would have taken just Walker) and he loves Blair (good - though I would have taken just Walker) and he can never ever ever TELL her, because if she knows he's Todd, she won't have him (JesuschristalmightywhatthefuckareyouthinkingyoufuckingASSHOLE?)
In short, ladies and gentlemen, what I fear we have is the Same Old Shit. Todd and Blair get closer. One lies. The other distrusts. They break up. It's like a broken record with the needle stuck in the most annoying part of the song. And it pisses me off, because, for the longest time I've been ready for Todd and Blair to go their separate ways. I've been so ready. Not because I didn't want them together, but because I couldn't take one more moment of this relentless cycle of bullshit. Enter Trevor St. John and Walker Lawrence. He's adorable, strong, caring, unpredictable, smart, mysterious. And he seems to genuinely like Blair - just as she is. I was good to go for a Walker-Blair-Troy triangle. But, noooooooo.
I'm not saying that I haven't enjoyed a lot of what I've seen. I have. Almost everything except the Kevin crap. But I see where this is going now. To the altar. Todd and Blair have been there so often, they've worn grooves in the aisle. Where what should be I do will turn out to be I don't, oh boo hoo hoo how could you lie to me again you ruin everything you touch yatta yatta yatta.
At this point, I'm ready to suggest that a bunch of us dress up like the characters and do the dialogue - like Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I hope I'm wrong. I really do. I hope Blair's had enough time to think about how life with Todd is better than life without him, even though he's not perfect (nobody is). I hope her brain is big enough again that SHE figures it out herself (because the jilted dipshit showing up with the damning evidence is just tooooo old) and doesn't give a crap. I mean, sometimes it IS the thought that counts. I hope Todd and Blair have some actual good times - with their kids, with each other - before they part again. Because they will. If not under Josh and Mike, then under whomever. And, as nice as it would be to have a soap opera couple written TOGETHER FOREVER in an interesting manner, it's about as likely as Joe and Ruth (AMC) showing buttcrack during sweeps. So, it's not even like I expect much. But it would be nice to have them break up over something original, something believable, something that matters.
