Subject: finally understanding.

Somebody once tried to explain to me that in our language, we have two words, Solitude and Loneliness. Solitude is being alone without thinking about being alone, while Loneliness is being alone and being fully aware that you are alone.

Today as I sat alone at the bus stop,
watching a lone squirrel play in a tree
where birds sang their enchanting songs,
I appreciated every heavenly moment
of being in harmonious Solitude.

I watched the bus come to a stop
and open its doors as a young couple
stepped out onto the pavement.
I observed as they gazed lovingly
into each other's eyes
then kissed to say good-bye
before they parted.

My Solitude turned to Loneliness.
