From the Front Desk Paparazzi in Nassau...

...Miss Universe GOSSIP!!!!!

-Complaints are in order because of the Miss Universe website. Leeches are direct-linking the photographs which causes the site to crash over and over. First order: To block all photos from the forums.

-Speaking of forums, the MUO staff spends all their mornings browsing pageant forums on the internet hosted by "Voy.com"

-A handful of contestants have been bitten by jellyfish due to a current that is bringing all kinds of marine species into the Bahamas' beaches.

-Miss Dominican Republic (Ada de la Cruz) could not have her swimsuit photo taken because she got a rash (allergic reaction). Her photos will be done as she gets better.

-The last contestant to arrive was Miss Trinidad&Tobago (yes they are competing). Her name is Kerry Ann, very tall with short hair and is apparently related to Wendy Fitzwilliam. The staff loves her.

-The contestants have been warned by their chaperones that they CANNOT CHANGE THEIR GOWNS. The gowns they wore in the photos are the gowns they must wear in the competition, according to the production team.

-The chaperones confiscated the Blackberries of about 5 contestants, who kept texting their boyfriends endlessly.

-Facebook Fate: The organization has told the delegates that they have to enforce the privacy settings in their photo albums if they want to upload personal pictures. These pictures include settings and situations that are off-limits and the org. doesn't want these photographs leaked online.

-One contestant (who has yet to be seen) is apparently down with the swine flu. Four other contestants, including her roommate, are showing symptoms. Medical personnel has not confirmed the type of flu.

-The national director of the Dominican Republic has asked the hotel for extra security upon her arrival. She says she wants to protect herself -and her entourage- from the Puerto Rican delegation.

-Ines Ligron in her blog is upset about the quality of this year's portraits. She is also upset that Miss Russia is wearing a gown by Armani Prive, so she has decided to get an even more expensive gown (Celine) for Emiri, who will wear a gown by Nicolas Felizola for the preliminaries.
-Ligron was also mad about all the negative publicity toward the national costume, so she axed the idea. Miss Japan will be wearing a japanese robot costume.

-Some delegates had problems with the handling of their luggage. About 12 national costumes, specially big ones from the latinas, are broken in pieces and being restored for the competition next week. Miss Puerto Rico's gloves from her costume are missing, and Miss Russia lost her laptop computer. Her boyfriend is sending a replacement.

-Contestants comment among themselves that Miss Colombia MUST BE OVER 30. Her roommate even asked to see her passport, which offended the Colombian contestant. Due to this, she is forced now to carry her personal documents everywhere she goes.

-One of the favorites (not latin, not european, not asian) has been going to the bathroom too many times after her meals. Apparently she forces the meal baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack inside one of the stalls.

-One of the african contestants was locked in her room for about 1 hour, after her roommate left, took the key and the electronic lock went berserk.

-The designers have been checking out the girls for the fittings for the Fashion Show. However, the fashion show producer said that no girls under 5'8" will be allowed to take part on the show, since these clothes are only for tall women.

-Also, the MUO will pick a group of 10 contestants to fly to Miami next week to do a media round of interviews for Telemundo and NBC. The "Donald" himself, will fly an extra 5 contestants to New York to do media appearances promoting the pageant. Soon the lucky delegates will be announced.

-A committee to organize the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Perth (Australia) will arrive in the Bahamas next week. They are very interested in the project.

-Apparently, and it's big news in the hotel: Misses Albania and Kosovo share much more than just a "room".

-The contestants have been complaining endlessly about their portraits which were uploaded to the official website without any filter or retouching at all, showing zits, eyebags, and other imperfections.

-2 european contestants fainted due to the tropical climate.

-No photos were released at this point because the Media Center was not opened until today, so the press was not able to take photos of the girls.

-For the first time in Miss Universe history, Miss USA is considering wearing a cocktail dress for the evening gown competition. She says it's to make sure she doesn't fall due to the karma of the previous titleholders. People are even betting money on her possible fall.

-2 contestants (one latina and one european who share a room) clogged the toilet in their bathroom causing an enormous flood.

-Miss Mexico keeps being criticized by her directors saying that her make-up is all wrong. She is trying to cope with it as she ignores the negative comments.

-And the BIG NEWS OF THE DAY!!! There will be a Top 16. The Miss Universe Organization and the committee, had agreed that the People of The Bahamas will be able to choose an extra semifinalist, via newspaper voting and SMS, giving an extra girl the chance to advance in the competition.

Miss Tanzania 2007, Flaviana Matata.

Miss Keira Sherman was in my good books by how nice and freindly she was meeting with Miss France (who is a dark horse of the pageant).

Now I was expecting her to greet MOST of the delegates at the airport in the day time but she was Absent... IS This the role she will be taking at all the events... Ive been preaching this... No ONE is not taking Miss Bahamas seriously... Her task is to USE her status as Hostess to get MEDIA COVERAGE and show off her personality... Only Once she was at the Airport when last year hosting queen who placed Miss Vietnam was at the airport greeting everyone.

She took her swim suit and OMG she looks so good... Im very shock! Keep it up girl!

Here her swimsuit Picture... From FAR she looks very nice buT im worried bout this hair of hers.

The Question was:
Miss Bahamas chances?
Hi.,, it has almost become tradition that the host nations delegate qualify for the Top15..... will Miss Bahamas follow that trend..??
And if she does... is that fair?

Personaly, I think Keira has improved but you can put lipstick on a pig it will always be a pig... NOT SAYING SHES A PIG but the SAYING... Firstly Keira is pretty but she isnt all that. She stands 5'6 and shes 25. She has TOO MUCH BAGGAGE to place. I know some of yal ga say Truth is bashing Keira but honestly Im not... I try to be TRUE and Present FACTS. Out of the Carribean girls Keira is second to last and no one should not DISAGREE with that. Because NOT ONE NOTEABLE PAGEANT CRITIC has her in their top 15, top 20 or top 25. When Every CARRIBEAN Country atleats showed up once BESIDES BAHAMAS and Turks.

THIS IS WHAT THE PEOPLE SAYING

NO WAY!
Her faith will be the same of T&T in 99, Cyprus in 2000, PR in 2002 n' Thailand in 2005 (Chananporn was robbed)

Re: Miss Bahamas chances?
by 098march » Sun Aug 02, 2009 6:37 am
FCE WISE, SHE WON'T MAKE IT... BUT IF HER PERFORMANCE ARE GREAT AND HER PERSONALITY IS GREAT WITH GOOD WARDROBES, THEN WHY NOT...

Re: Miss Bahamas chances?
by GORGEOUS » Sun Aug 02, 2009 11:48 am
A BIG NO!! SHE HAS A BIG RESEMBLANCE TO JEWEL SELVER!!
OUT OF THE 57 EDITIONS OF MISS UNIVERSE, ONLY 45 HOST DELEGATES MADE IT!!
SO 12 HOST DELEGATES ARE LEFT BEHIND!! SHE'LL END UP AS THAILAND 2005!!
MARK THAT!!

*******************************************************
NOW THAT is what some critics are saying about Keira... Its sad but some are so true... I know Yal think that most bahamains are not happy because their favorites didnt win but TRUST ME Im being very HONEST. Keira chances dont look good at all.

MY ADVICE FOR HER IS:
1. PEOPLE SKILLS&NETWORKING SKILLS is a MUST:
Try to be as freindly and hostable as ever... do your research on the canidates and remember their names and faces... Know The Miss Universe Organizers.

2. Find SENSIBLE BAHAMAIN Fashion DESIGNERS
GROOMING IS A F*CKING MUST! Get THAT SHITY weibe out your Hair get something Way nicer...Be ON POINT from SUNDAY til AUg 23.

3. Get some Bahamain supporters for every EVENT:
Try to BOOST YASELF gurl.... GET EM' GET EM'... OH YES Dnt NEVER say that shit you said last week on ZNS News saying Some shit bout Bahamains like to jump on wagons and bring down others... YINNo u win das d end a dat APOLOGIZE get freindly with CAMILLE, AMANDA, IFe and others so u can bring their supports YA WAY N NOT TONIQUE DARLING HIGHWAY.

4. STAND OUT!!!
If ya gatta do the DUTTY WINE or show em ya PRIVATE dancing MOVES... HUNEY ENTERTAIN EM'........ Use ya preety voice for a FEW of the socials... SINg BAhamain songs along with POPULAR American songs.

5. GET CLOSE WITH THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA
Get their ATTENTION.......TRY TO USE EM... Dey ga be HOTT UP for Dominican REPUBLIC and Puerto Rico so be dere closest freinds...I mean ZNS show so much gurls but I want yal TO NOTICE THEY CAME TO MY GURL ADA dey didnt even interview Miss Bahamas.. What Type WYBE dat is...... dey mussy kno d TIME!

6. THIS THE IMPORTANT ONE
START A PRAYER GROUP
GEt NEIL ELLIS and Ya Anglican pastor and form a GROUP girl... Start PRAYING...NO NO SCOTCH DAT........ FORM A MIRACLE PRAYING GROUP....... Cuz I enn ga Lie....... Miss Bahamas chances dont LOOK GOOD AT ALL.

Truth’s comments:
Miss Universe 2009 will be Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic or someone out of the BLUE. The reason PR and DR are back to back is because they are consistent, critics have them in their top 3 or hate them, they are both pageant powerhouses, great runway skills, they needed the least amount of training and known for their pageantry knowledge.
Countries like The Bahamas, Costa Rica, Cayman Islands, Hungary, and Jamaica are in the playing field due to their country or looks however they are not consistent into the pageantry world and countries like Colombia, Venezuela, USA and Spain has a reputation of being consistent and always ranking.

***********************************************************

Special Note:
Miss Universe officials have NOT publicly stated that there will be a top 10. Therefore There will be a Top 15. Special reminder Miss Universe always try to have a top diverse 15 semi-finalist.
Also this is not a FINAL prediction however all the girls in the top 15 will have a advantage because of critics predictions. They are the Girls to BEAT.
