The fact that a crowd is requested outside the executive session shows the political nature of the entire Taylor debacle.
If the county officials can be swayed by the crowd, then they are making a political decision.

Maybe they should consider a wiser decision making method:

What are the rules of termination for a police officer? Is it allowable to reprimand or discipline an officer? Does the officer have a right to a decent time frame for these decisions? How much time in limbo is considered "punishment" for an officer? How will an officer be able to do his job with so much controversy in his workplace? Will the officer be always looking over his shoulder waiting for more accusations? Police work requires good judgment- and the officer has to be able to exercise that without fear of recrimination.
Lawrenceburg officials have to make a wise decision. Lady justice has a blindfold on and a scales in her hand. Perhaps Lawrenceburg officials need to decide this case without looking at the name or political affiliations of the officer- just looking at his long term record and weighing that against the infraction he has admitted to committing. Does he deserve a second chance?
