I would like to see them use police time and court resources more wisely and ignore pot laws (unless concurrent crime necessitates action). If they can't do that with the laws on the books, maybe it should be legalized or be minor like a parking ticket.
Many professions don't allow prescriptions drugs of most types either. They screen to prevent use of prescription drugs, and illegal drug use (alcohol too). These regulations would likely continue as same even if pot were legal and would work just the same as it does now.
Many sensitive professions don't screen at all. A surgeon is not required to be tested and same in many other areas. No solution is perfect.
