It never ceases to amaze me how leftists are able to hold as true two conflicting thoughts at the same time without their heads exploding. Example:
Not EPA
"EPA is not to Blame", you are a far right, totally wrong, brainwashed, evil Corp., only about money, greedy CEOs
IS EPA
"I WANT CLEAN AIR", can't deregulate.
   It's clear you,
a) are incapable of coherent logic,
b) respond only with emotion and political talking points you heard from like minded leftists, and
c) have done absolutely no research on the subject and therefore know little or nothing about the topic.
I can't do anything about the first two, but I decided to take a whack at the last. I did some research to update my understanding of the topic as it has been some time since I last checked in on the topic.

As it turns out things have evolved some. While we were still early in the life of the new EPA regulations I think it still holds that the industry response was to import expensive foreign diesel. If you doubt me, check out this chart (from the U.S Government, not Fox) which shows that imports of low sulfur diesel essentially started when the EPA rule went into effect and has continued unabated. Since then, Refiners have done some work to upgrade their refineries but you will notice that it really has done nothing to help our prices. As it turns out, since Europe is a heavy consumer of ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel), all the conversion has done is open European markets to exports. And export we do. As you can see from this Chart, also from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, we started exporting all of that diesel rendered unusable by EPA Regulation in 2006 and by 2008 when the financial crisis hit, exports really went into high gear.
And I'm not the only one laying the blame at the doorstep of EPA, the Atlantic Magazine (hardly a Fox affiliate) does the same thing in this article from Jan. of 2012.
You can pitch a tantrum like some child, lay on the floor and pound your fists and kick your feet, wailing "I WANT CLEAN AIR" if you want but you should at least be honest enough to recognize that EPA regulation is the prime mover in the current relative price of diesel. And you do pay a price, even if you don't drive a diesel. Everything you buy comes to you as a product of diesel powered transportation, and you can bet they don't pay that price without passing the cost along to you. If you are ok with the cost of things you buy for whatever incremental gain in clean air we might get, fine. Some of the rest of us don't agree and don't think the parasitic drag on the economy and the cost in jobs because of that drag is worth the price of your AIR.
