The government is letting the Fed Reserve manufacture money without being authorized by the US Treasury. Your taxes can only be paid with Dollars "Fed Reserve notes" or the US Government takes your home and your "stuff". The dollar is accepted for trade but the underlying value of the dollar is not gold or silver it only has value in your ability to pay your taxes.
The Fed Reserve has more debt, it's considered 16.5 trillion dollars to the US Treasury debt of 14.5 trillion dollars.
IMO our money situation is the blame for our troubled times. Here's alink to the Federal Reserve present problems. A 2008 article.
