There is nothing to negotiate here and the prosecutor allowing Taylor to commit this crime and still continue to hold the public office he was seeking when he committed the crime is a crime within itself against the people of Lawrenceburg. Tell me any private sector job where you can bill for hours that you spent illegally campaigning for office and still keep your job and office? There are people that have been locked up in dearborn county jail for weeks on B and C misdemeanor violations and he is charged with (2) Class D felonies and is a book and release. Is it any wonder that people here have no respect for law enforcement and the courts......This is just another in a long list of recent crimes by law enforcement. Dennis Lewis, Dana Cotton, Mike Fogle etc etc etc. Police yourselves before you start policing the public is what needs to be said here. Lewis was the only one that really paid the price and that was simply because they had to throw him under the bus because of the sexual nature of the charges... The other two were slapped on the wrist and let go. So it looks like the end result of the Doug Taylor thing will be yea he committed a crime while seeking office, but we are going to let him have the office anyway.
