Callahan should not be Coroner. An EMT should not pronouce someone dead. We need Experience. If an EMT can pronouce a person deceased then why can't the responding EMT to do this? Why do we need a Coroner? If it is because this is a judical position then a doctor should be appointed this postion. If not a doctor then a paramedic, or a nurse should be appointed, Bright has had the ability for paramedics but are one the only in this area (50 square miles); of this size that do not have them...WHY???? The Fire/EMT department has several times been offered this opinion and declined moving forward.
