As a response to some of the questions posted about the coroners position that is up for election, I have seen the posts, the debates, the comments made by the canidates, all the information surrounding all the canidates, and the future changes that will be made by the canidates. This position really should not be a political position this position has nothing really to do with political decisions, this position is about determining the manner and cause of death to an individual. This position should be held by someone who has experience, has had the investigative training to determine a cause of death, someone that is certified by the state to legally pernouce a death and it's cause. Comments made about changes to the department I have heard them all, Callahan has stated that he wanted to bring in new people, which would not be good for family's of the deceased because the would like to have an experienced person tell them what really happened not someone who is going to take a guess at it, comments that he talked to Wes Holt the current coroner about him staying on the dept. and about Wes supporting him were completely false I've talked to Wes and I know who he is supporting and i know he is supporting Cochran Evans and if you ask Sue or Wes they will tell you the same thing. I've heard no changes to the dept. from Cochran Evans, she has stated that she is happy with the dept. and the progress they have all made as a team and the only changes would be possible more trainning because the more you know the better you are. The people of Dearborn county need someone with experience in this position, because ask yourself if you had a family member that was found dead would you want a mistake made by an inexperienced coroner determining the cause of death and could possibly let a killer go free. These are some of the things we all need to think about for this election its about who is the most qualified to do the best job for the county and it's residents because this someday could effect your family
