As many have brought up, the Sheriff dept. is involved in matters of their own self-interest, such as the jail expansion.
Is it normal for the Sheriff to be so involved in something that seems to be outside of his primary job description?
Others have brought up conflicts of interest in Commission, Council and various areas regarding this issue.
Does the Sheriff receive a salary and also overtime, bonuses and other? Who determines cost of living and other raises for this office?
The more I learn the more I'm concerned about decision making with tax dollars and boat savings.
