Appalled that 4 of council voted away responsible policy, so they can spend with no consensus. The architects and proposed builder of jail attended the council meeting. Morris had paperwork all ready to go ahead with the vote to raid the funds.

A new facility including 150 new beds at the cost of around 9 million dollars, also projected to raise the overhead by 1 million a year.
This sounds a lot like building cost of $60,000 per bed, and roughly $6,600 per new bed/per year of additional overhead.

As a citizen, I want to hear talk about additional options to prevent using jail as easier solution for sheriff and prosecutors. The economy is terrible. If these offenders have jobs, or are not on the dole, every effort must be made to use methods other than jail to keep lives intact for non violent crime.
