700 WLW-Man's illicit hobby leads to burglaries, arrest
Friday, July 1, 2011( Newport,KY )- A former satellite system installer has been arrested for stealing women's underwear.
Police say that Joseph McCaleb stole numerous undergarments from his female customers while working as a system installer for Multiband.
McCaleb also saved pictures of the panties on his computer, noting who he took them from and even labeling some with nicknames.
After being fired by Multiband, McCaleb is accused of breaking into the home of an old customer and stealing not only panties, but money orders as well. According to police, McCaleb had befriended the customer on Facebook, and committed the crime after she announced that she would be going out of town.
McCaleb was then photographed cashing the stolen money orders and arrested by Newport Police. Police found underwear in his work truck in addition to the pictures on his computer.Investigators currently are seeking victims of McCaleb's burglaries. If you think you may have been a victim, you should call Officer Brandon Vance with the Newport Police Department at 859-655-2016.
