I have attended several psychology classes that have documented proof that a lot of serial killers have started with animal abuse. This county is famous for ignoring animal abuse cases.

There ae no big court cases here involving animal abuse when Hamilton County has a bunch each year. Do you really think it is because there is no animal abuse in Dearborn County? No...it is because the cases are "too little" for the prosecutor to worry about. When he is faced with the cases, they are dropped.

I know someone that is still holding animals from a case in May and the prosecutor doesn't even have the respect for the people to let them officially know that he dropped the case. If the people the animals were taken from were smart, they would sue the county. To drop the case against them, but not return the animals is crazy. I am hoping the person holding the animals without payment from the county sues! They are holding for Dearborn and Ohio Counties and have spent almost $10,000 out of their own pocket and I have seen the reciepts to prove it.

That is the other reason the cases are swept under the rug here. The prosecutor doesn't want that coming out of his budget but he will let someone else eat that cost and not think anything of it. It doesn't make him look like a hero and it takes money away from his SCU. I know for a fact that if the person holding the animals does not get any financial help soon, they are going under. Who has a spare $10,000 to blow on care for animals that may return to an abusive owner because the prosecutor won't do his job. To overwhelm people that are willing to help out and then walk away is criminal!

If he only realized that prosecuting the animal abuse cases, does make him look good. It makes him look like he has some compassion and it makes him look like he understands that this is where a lot of serious crimes start. It would actually make him a hero in the long run. There are so many people that would support him if he took all cases as serious as he does the ones that make him look good.
