I went to the grand opening of the new animal shelter. I was impressed with the building itself . The woman who I talked to showed me how it was built to be community friendly and it was geothermal to cut the monthly budget and help the environment. I signed up to come in once a month to help walk the dogs. They seemed so organized they even have classes to take before you volunteer. I hope it works out for them it seems like alot for a grassroots organization to take on. They have so many animals I just don't know how they will get them all adopted. Also I wonder why none of the news channels showed up there was like hundreds of people there? Also why did they have it in a wendsday and not on like a Saturday or a Sunday. I bet they would do better if they planned stuff on weekends. My husband could not come because by the time he got out of work he was dead tired. So I guess really I give them a mixed review after all. Nice people ,good hearts ,good volunteer organization skills. Bad on event planning. The building is very community friendly but putting the event on a wendsday? Nobody gets married on a Monday morning so why do your grand opening on a wendsday. They should of done it as a all weekend event so the news people would come.
