 Most County offices already have term limits. The problem is that they just shift from office to office. But term limits would be a place to start on the remaining offices. This however requires legislation at the State level which is likely to to be opposed by the status quo. Look what happened in the last legislative session when the Governor and the Chamber failed to reform government.

For example, Why did the nepotism law fail at the last moment in the General Assembly? HOUSE BILL No. 1022 would have Prohibited a county, city, or town employee from being a candidate for or serving on the legislative or fiscal body of the county, city, or town that employs the employee. Sounds just right for Dearborn County; doesn't it?

Why did Reps. McMillin and Rep. Frye vote against the Conference committee report that would have approved this bill? Maybe they got a few phone calls from some concerned officeholders....

FYI the Prosecutor and Judges have no term limits...
