What kind of dog is it?
That is funny, but clearly people who have not had pets can't tell the difference of vicious/dangerous, or not.
For anyone who was bitten by a dog as a child, they have a terrible time getting over it and are afraid of or dislike animals. Can u blame them?
I used to keep our harmless dogs/pets in for courtesy toward postal delivery folks, even though our dogs don't bite.
Then our UPS admitted he liked to see what critters might be in our yard that day. So we entertain. Sometimes goats, maybe with chickens riding their backs, visiting cows, pony, horses, a watchdog rooster, dogs, etc.. Once it was neighbor's stray emu with baby at side who stayed for months. Looked like Jurassic park here. The "round up" to get the Emus back home was a hoot. None of it seems to bother our fearless UPS or Fedex man. We usually have something alive outside to greet or entertain them.
If my packages stop coming, I will take the hint.
