Subject: Just in case you hadn't read it yet....
Just in case you haven't read this on Fried Twinkies yet I am posting it here. This is proof the PBR is trying to stay in tune with their fans. I have to give props to Mr. Gleason for taking time out of his busy day to post this response on the Twinkies blog.
"Sean Gleason Says:

Point of Clarification for all you folks on Fried Twinkies.
PBR’s income numbers quoted in the New York Times cited the average “Household Income” and not “Individual Income” for PBR fan households. The average Household Income numbers were pulled from independent research from Scarborough and The Bonham Group, both respected research organizations. Household Income is based on the total income of working members in a household, which would include any husbands, wives and even teenage or adult children in the household at the time the surveys were taken. The average is composited from all fans across the US and is as high as it is because PBR has a lot of fans who have at least two full time employed individuals in the home.
As a general comment, you should know that both Randy and I read comments on Fried Twinkies and other sites on a regular basis. We take as much time as we can to stay in tune with the issues that our most ardent and loyal fans find important. I can’t say that I always agree with all of you, but we certainly do all we can to listen and learn.
Several of the comments posted on this site touch on issues we talk about with our staff on virtually a daily basis. “How do we continue to grow without alienating our core audience?”, “How do we manage the increasing demands from 20 million fans that all want accessibility to the stars of the sport?” and, “How do we keep it affordable?”.
I can’t say that we have the perfect answer to all of those questions, but we continually challenge ourselves to come up with solutions and guage the response from you. PBR’s core fans are what makes this sport work on every level. We appreciate your support and will do what we an to address your valid concerns."

Thanks Kris for posting that here. I read it on FT and sent MR Gleason an invitation to stop by our website. I would like for our board to start have some discussions hear. So if anyone has a topic that would like to discuss Ill be glad to add my 2cent.
The cost of a PBR event is really high for one person. I don't see how a family can go to a event that is not close by and we know how kids are when they go they want to buy things and of course they want to say hi to their favorite bullrider. And I think ALL of the bullriders should stay and sign autographs. Some of them need to remember that the fans are paying alot of hard earned $$$ to see them ride a bull and that pays their bills!!

After reading the posts, I think they are concerned about the direction the PBR takes and taking care of everyone -- the PBR, the fans, the riders, and the contractors. Man, what a job, trying to please all those people at the same time. LOL!
I think everyone should make a point to sign autographs. I do know that some venues will run you off immediately following an event. The 1st and 2nd night of a 2 or 3 day event may be the only time available.
Or... maybe they can come up with an alternative location for a Meet and Greet for a couple hours.

I totally agree on the autograph deal. I think they need to up the fine to $1,500 each time a bull rider decides not to sign autographs after each round. After all, it is "features" like that the keep the fans coming back. PBR became so popular because the "stars" were excessible. Now do I think people should stalk the boys in the hotels and in public places outside the arena for autographs, NO!. And we all understand that there are times when sponsor obligations keep a cowboy from being able to stay and sign after the rounds but that's a very rare occurance. Some guys just don't like to sign and I get that but I don't like getting up every morning and going to work but I do it.
I still don't think that the PBR should be charging $100 each for any seat, in any arena, in any location. That's just way tooooo expensive for what it is. The PBR has come a long long way, and I love it - its my favorite sport, but I just don't understand the rationale in commanding those kinds of prices for tickets at this juncture in the game. Just my humble, middle-class opinion.
I do commend the PBR staff, especially Randy and Sean and Mr. Patterson from Spire for taking the time out of their schedules to "keep an ear" to what the fans have to say. I can bet you that Roger Goodell doesn't answer questions on NFL message boards. (not to say that he might not want, I betting he doesn't have time)
Ok, enough of my soap-box ranting. : )
Is everyone ready for Christmas?
