Amazing Race -- Beckie, Thu, Jan 21 2010, 18:54:56 [3]

Cowboys, dectectives among 'Amazing Race' teamsThe Associated Press, January 20, 2010
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jet and Cord McCoy, a pair of bull-riding brothers from Tupelo, Okla., are among the 11 teams competing on the upcoming 16th edition of CBS's "The Amazing Race." Other teams competing this season include a pair of narcotics detectives, previous "Big Brother" contestants, and former Miss Teen South Carolina Caitlin Upton and her boyfriend.

Thanks Jennie P.
For the first time, when the teams depart "The Amazing Race" starting line, they must rely solely on public transportation — no rental cars, no taxis — to make their way from downtown Los Angeles to the airport. Executive producer Bertram van Munster said the racers will then head to Valparaiso, Chile. Other stops include France and the Seychelles.

Love the Jib Jab video. I did a bunch of those for family and friends at Christmas using the elves. That is too funny with the riders. I did recognize JB & Brendon but who were the other "dancers"...hehehehe too funny.

I really loved it. Justin and JW are so funny together. The are the perfect duo to do the show. I like that it is set up so if they make mistakes, it is okay and they laugh it off (very relaxed show). I too would like to hear more questions asked. I have the show set on season pass on my dvr so at least I can watch those two and be able to keep up with the season and see some rides since DirectTV took away my Versus.

Also, saw on Chad Drury's website that they are having a girl...CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I know your baby girl will bring lots of love and happiness to your life. Merry Christmas! -- Beckie, Mon, Dec 21 2009, 23:30:56 [1]

REMEMBER:

Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. And then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did.. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO

JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "You better not cry"

JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa's little helpers make toys

JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but

JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree

JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison.

We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.

We need to put Christ back in Christmas.

Jesus is still the reason for the season.

May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2009

And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas..... -- Kris, Thu, Dec 10 2009, 16:17:45 [1]

Well after the 12 hours of rain and the 60 MPH wind gust we had here in Ohio that last two days; today we got light snow flurries and its about 5 degrees outside with the windchill factor. BURRRR!!!!! For all of you who might have been in the path of that storm that hit the mid-west I hope you faired wonderfully!

Everyone done with their Christmas shopping? For the most part I'm done. I keep finding things that I just have to have for this person or that person. I have almost everything wrapped already, too.

Stock Contractor of the Year! -- Kris, Thu, Nov 05 2009, 17:14:21 [2]

Berger makes it three in a row
South Dakotan named Stock Contractor of the Year, again!!

LAS VEGAS (November 5, 2009) - It’s a phone call that Chad Berger hasn’t forgotten.

Not one that he had, but a conversation between Cody Lambert and Ty Murray in December of 1998. After three seasons cut short by injury, Murray had finally returned to form, and won his record-setting seventh all-around title at the NFR.

It was the most all-around titles anyone had ever won – breaking Murray’s tie of six with Larry Mahan –and in that conversation, Murray told his best friend, “No one else in the world knows what this feels like.”

Berger smiled, recalling that famous story. Then, nodding his head, he said, “I want to be the only one to know what it feels like to win Stock Contractor of the Year seven times.”

“I want to set the record. … I’ve set my goal.”

Berger made the statement at the annual Stock Contractor Banquet, at which he was named Contractor of the Year for the third consecutive time, an honor voted on by the Top 40 bull riders in the world.

“That means everything to me,” said Berger, who hopes to continue maximizing his brand awareness. “We try so hard to have a great set of bulls, and when the Top 40 guys in the world congratulate you for that, that means everything to me.

“They’re all such nice young men that it makes me proud to think I got the best bulls in the world.”

The entire interview with Berger can be accessed by selecting the “Event Center” tab on the World Finals home page and then clicking on “Behind the Chutes.”

Just as he did a year ago, Berger gave credit to his entire team, as well as his investors.

Berger likened his run of titles to “riding a wave.”

“I tell these guys every day that we’re all equal here,” he said, “and we just need to work together.”

Berger not only provides an average of 25 bulls for a Built Ford Tough Series event, but he also provides 75 or more bulls at numerous lower-level events from coast to coast throughout the year.

His ever-growing pen is about 150 strong at this time, and Berger said he’s confident that more than 100 of them are good enough to compete at a BFTS event. He also spoke of the importance of building his brand through marketing and public relations, as well as mixing with bull riders and interacting with the fans on a regular basis.

Back in March on a Sunday afternoon in Birmingham, Ala., Berger’s self-promotion literally paid off—to the tune of $50,000.

After four weeks of suspense and two previous postponements, the South Dakota stock contractor was outwardly relieved when the scores came in and he knew Big Tex had defeated Bones in the highly anticipated bull-versus-bull challenge during the championship round of the Pike Electric Invitational.

“I can’t hardly talk,” said Berger afterward. “I’m elated.”

At this afternoon’s banquet, Berger, who was surrounded by friends and family, was all smiles. Also among the capacity crowd in the Showroom at the South Point Hotel and Casino were the likes of Jeff Robinson and H.D. Page, along with Lambert.

Also there for the lunch, award ceremony and ABBI bull auction were legendary bull riders Jerome Davis, Jerome Robinson, Adriano Moraes, J.W. Hart, Tater Porter and others.

Berger is now hoping Big Tex, who bucks Friday night and perhaps again Sunday in the short go round, will win the World Champion Bull title.

“I do everything I can now to just keep us where we’re at,” Berger said, “and even get better.”

—by Keith Ryan Cartwright

***Couldn't have happened to a nicer, harder-working guy and team!

[> Re: Berger earns honor for third time -- Debbie, Wed, Nov 11 2009, 23:56:10 [1]

Last weekend Mandan's Chad Berger was named the Pro Bull Riders, Inc., stock contractor of the year for the third straight time. And his bulls stampeded their way to virtually every award available at the 2009 PBR World Finals in Las Vegas.

But even as Berger was hoarding all the hardware, he was quick to share the credit for all his success with his family and workers. Among them are his wife, Sarah; his daughters, Lacey and Sadie; his son, John; his driver, Brandon Sedler, whom Berger presented his buckle to for all Sedler's efforts; and Daniel Croher, Berger's "go-to guy."

"The thing I take the most pride in is all the people around me, my family and the people who work for me who make this all possible," Berger said. "Without them, we wouldn't have all these awards.

"... I'm just the coach on a winning team."

There will be a celebration from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Mandan Community Center.

Berger is the third person to be named contractor of the year three times in a row, but the first from outside of Texas and Oklahoma. The award is voted on by the PBR's top riders.

"It's a huge honor to have the top 40 guys in the world saying you have the best bulls in the world," Berger said.

Two bulls co-owned by Berger finished in the top three in the World Champion bull race. Code Blue was the overall winner, posting a three-ride score of 140.75. Big Tex was third at 138.75.

Code Blue, which went 14-0 in the PBR's Built Ford Tough Series - the highest level of competition - has never been ridden.

Berger's father, Joe, owned Little Yellow Jacket, a three-time PBR bull of the year award winner (2002-04) and generally considered the best bull in PBR history. Chad Berger said both have the potential to reach that level.

"Code Blue and Big Tex are probably as good as Little Yellow Jacket right now, but they've got a lot to prove," he said. "They've got to do it for another five years. Little Yellow Jacket never had a bad day in seven years."

Berger said that being honored by the PBR is a huge benefit to the company, but that it's tough to stay on top.

"When you win these types of awards, it's better for business," Berger said. "There are more people who want to invest in your bulls.

"... But the other contractors are all gunning for you. They want to dethrone you, so have to work harder."

2010 PBR FINALS -- Tracy, Fri, Nov 06 2009, 19:30:39 [3]

What does everyone think about the PBR going back to a 1 weekend event?

I think it is one of the best ideas they've had in a long time. I haven't ever liked the 2 weekend deal anyway. I know that if I plan to attend the finals, I want to go to every round, not just have to choose to be there for the last 4 days.

It just makes way more sense for everyone concerned from the fans, the riders, the stock contractors, the personnel, the vendors.... everyone!

I've read some complaints that because the NFR is 10 days, the PBR should be 10 days. I don't think these PBR guys need to be getting on PBR bulls for 10 days straight. I've never seen 10 days worth of PBR quality bulls at the NFR.

It will be interesting to see what the actual format will be.

PBR fan favorite Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Okla.) will not compete at the 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals due to an injury sustained at the Mohegan Sun Invitational in Uncasville, Conn.; therefore, no. 41 man Elliott Jacoby (Fredericksburg, Texas) will compete in his place. Additionally, five riders have qualified as alternates. They are: Billy Robinson (Galax, Va.), Reese Cates (Carthage, Texas), Clayton Baethge (Johnson City, Texas), Mike White (De Kalb, Texas), and Dusty Ephrom (Arcola, SK, Canada).

For a fourth year, the top bull riding superstars from all of the international tours have qualified to compete in the first three rounds of competition. If any of the international qualifiers earn enough money to break them into the top 40 in the world standings, based on money, they will progress into the second weekend of the Finals. PBR Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico will be sending the no. 1 rider in their standings. David Kennedy (Kyogle, AUS) will be the PBR Australia representative; Zane Lambert (Westbourne, MB) will represent PBR Canada; Edimundo Gomes (Brazil) will ride for PBR Brazil; and Gustavo Pedrero (Jalisco, MEX) will be the PBR Mexico rider.

The PBR World Finals consists of eight rounds of competition. The first seven rounds feature the top 40 riders randomly matched against the sport’s toughest bulls. The top 15 riders based upon their total cumulative scores after seven rounds will qualify to compete in one final decisive round of competition, which will take place at the conclusion of the seventh performance on Sunday, November 8.

The rider with the highest total score on eight bulls will earn the 2009 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals event title. The PBR World Finals event winner should not be confused with the PBR World Champion. The 2009 PBR World Champion will be the rider who totals the most Built Ford Tough Series points throughout the course of the entire season including the PBR World Finals. Both the 2009 World Champion and World Finals event winner will be named on Sunday, November 8.

Additionally, the PBR is excited to announce its bullfighting and judging crews for the 200 PBR World Finals. Each was selected by the top 40 bull riders – one of the highest honors in professional bull riding.

The 2009 PBR World Finals Dickies DuraBullfighters are Shorty Gorham (Cotulla, Texas), Frank Newsom (Saratoga, Olka.), Joe Baumgartner (Red Bluff, Calif.), and Jesse Byrne (Prince Albert, SK, Canada). Darrell Diefenbach (Azle, Texas) was selected as the alternate.

The 2009 PBR World Finals Judging Team is made up of Jim Bob Custer, Lane Foltyn, Chuck Lambert, Bill Pacheco, and Jeff Shearer who will be the replay judge.

Boy howdy---Howdy---(I loved saying that!!) great score you got this time. Too bad there seems to be an added zero on the end. At least according to your standings.
And of course once more Chad got high score. COngrats to all. I'm just glad to see JB lose for a change. I know his fans don't like to read things like this but come on, even the broadcasters know what is going on or they wouldn't keep bringing it up each week. You have the right to like him which means I have the right to dislike him.

Gini, you crack me up! I guess that's what I get for being in a hurry to get the scores posted.

And you are right, you have the right to not like JB. That's why this message board is so great, we all have our favorites and no one here will judge you for who you like or dislike. I was so happy that Guilherme won! I would love nothing more than to see him become the first back-to-back world champ. He's a good guy, very polite and friendly and he's one heck of a bull rider, IMO, of course. : ) I think we all get a little frustrated with the inconsistant judging. Thanks for your post, as always....
