Ireland) there are those who take a potion or have a magical something-or-other fall into their eyes and can then see the Fae. These people aren't born with the power, but acquire it (and the power may be taken away if the Fae ever discover it). Ergo, JB may not be born with the power of a sidhe-seer, but he could have come upon a way to give him the power to see the Fae sans glamour ... and if he turns out to be a sorcerer this could be a legit argument.
