[> Darroc Has Return -- BeaJae, 03:09:13 05/02/07 Wed [1]

When mac described Alina's boyfriend, he sounded so familiar so I had to reread "The Immortal Higlander". There he was golden god with copper hair to his waist and a scar down his check(from the Sword of Light). He became human in that book. Who wouldn't want to get back at his enemies. Now where is the Dark King? He has been gone for 55 years as the Hunters told Darroc. He is the most powerful of all the fae, even Aoibheal said he was in the book, "Into the Dreaming". Is she with him at this time, not realizing that the walls are tumbling? "Not quite fae, his blood mixed with the blood of a creature even the fae hesitated to name.... She repressed a shiver, remembering her last excursion to his land. She'd nearly failed to summon the power to leave." chptr15 Into the Dreaming. Is JB a descendent of this Dark King? Could the Dark King have descendents? Mac knows that JB is not fae, but she is finding out he is something like a fae. Maybe it is just hoping that we came get some story of the Dark King

[> [> my prediction is JB is one of the 5 Druids -- claudia (celestial girl!), 18:07:51 05/07/07 Mon [1]

It is true that JB has very unusual powers. But he crackles with electricity the way the Druids do (Cian, Dageus, and Drustan). And he wears those Celtic wrist bands.

I'm willing to bet he was involved in the theft of the 'place' in London, that Queen Aoibheal was cognizant of at the beginning of Spell. I'm willing to bet that JB 'acquired' the pages of the Dark Book that Lucan had taken by rubbing charcoal over paper on the cover.

I have the suspicion that JB is, like, the Druid of Dublin, or something. (He calls it 'my city). And that he is one of the five that Queen Aoibheal says (at the end of Spell) that she has to gather together. JB doesn't seem like he has a 'dark' bone in his body. He may be into power toys, and human manipulation, but only in a human sense, not in a darkly hungering sense. I have a hard time seeing him as a descendant of the Dark King.

The definition of Druid includes the fact that they take students - and JB is aware that he has done just that with Mac - the 'I'm the only one willing to take it one, given the raw material you have to work with.' ;-)

[> [> ps - what happened to Darroc's scar? -- claudia (celestial girl!), 18:12:44 05/07/07 Mon [1]

You noted that Darroc had a pronounced scar, that he wore with pride, as mentioned in Immortal. So if the Lord Master is Darroc, and as a human he is unable to cast a 'glamor', then what has happened to the scar?

OK. Dopey me. I can answer my own question - it says on page 277 that in the pictures with him an Alina that he has the scar! I can't believe I didn't pick up on that. But then that's what this board is all about, isn't it?
